Great overnight spot with our pup.
Pros:

The beds. The pillows. Super cozy.
Great, hot, strong shower. Very impressive.

We will never stay here again. It was horrible

The smell of marijuana inside the hotel was overpowering and the smoke gave my son an asthma attack. Noise curfew was not enforced by staff. Walls were paper thin and beds were very uncomfortable.

I just don't understand the hype
Pros:

Not much. Location.

Cons:

Pitiful breakfast. Price way too high for "minimalist" accommodations. AC inadequate. Property shows signs of wear and tear. Cancelation policy way too harsh for such an inferior property.No sofa? Really? Marketing description is "generoys". Pictures sort of don't lie, but cancelation policy forced us to stay. NEVER. AGAIN. PERIOD.

Nice hotel with little flaws and a great receptionist
Pros:

Of all the Mariotts there definitely the best one.
Rather modern style, gym ok
Yet my highest praise does not go to the hotel itself, but to the staff. All friendly. And Kiara (or Chiara? Sorry, not sure) is the gem of the whole thing. She is one of the friendliest, most radiant people I have ever met at a hotel (and I have been to many). Don’t know why no 5 star hotel has stolen her from the Aloft. I felt so welcome and got everything I asked for from her without any visible effort. When I come back, I hope to see her again.

Cons:

Would not go into the pool. The water looked aweful. Maybe it’s the tiles, don’t know.
No daily full cleaning service. And the make up remover pads got never replaced. So housekeeping made me give 8 instead of 9 stars.

Great location, easy check in and close to shopping and restaurants.
Pros:

Check in was a breeze and the staff was amazing. The wi-fi was down when we checked in but that didn't keep us from checking in early.

Cons:

There was a group of young band members during our stay and they were a little noisy during the night on our floor. It only lasted a few minutes...not worth calling the front desk.

No free breakfast and bed was very low for a handicapped room - needed a box spring to raise it up.

Love the property, but won't be staying there on my next trip to Chesapeake.
Pros:

I love the way the rooms are laid out and the fact that there is a restaurant and beautiful outside seating

Cons:

Why is it so hard to have fresh coffee out at 5am AS ADVERTISER!!!! GOOD GREIF!!! and then I have to argue with your night auditor at 5:20am when I questioned it and her nasty response to me was: "UM, IT'S A BIT EARLY DON'T YA THINK"!!! how about your management team show up (unscheduled) and do spot checks on your staff and if tasks are being completed, AS ADVERTISED. I worked in hospitality for 20 years and did night audit..........I know the difference. Also, this is NOT the first time I have encountered this problem with this property!! It's every time.
