No fault with the hotel. Excellent service and great to have separate GF area (including toaster) at breakfast.

The workman drilling in the floor of the room above early in the morning. No plug sockets by the bed
Excellent location close to Paddington, canal, Kensington Gardens, although hard to find the first time since I didn't know where I was going. Because my first room was unsatisfactory, I was given an upgrade to a higher floor with an entertaining view over the train tracks, highway, and city. The breakfast was superb, great variety, just missing yoghurt (and preferably unsweetened). Staff was super nice and friendly. I would stay there again.
There was a terrible smell in the shower stall in the first room I was given, with dark mildew between tiles. I couldn't understand why they didn't just spray the grout and scrub with a toothbrush. The carpet was also stained. This was an expensive hotel that should have higher standards! A staff member showed me a different room, no smell, but the tile was also stained. So he gave me an upgrade to a newly renovated room on a top floor. which was very nice although painted a bit dark and had a thermostat that shined brightly directly onto the bed. I'd stay there again, but just check the room first.

Location is very good if you are using public transportation, being minutes away from Paddington Station
The room is carpeted and although it was vacuumed, it was stained giving the room a shabby look.
I also don't like having the toilet separate as you still need to use the bathroom to wash your hands. We had come across this in most hotels in France but the first time in the UK

Hade uppskattat mer att toaletten var separat från badrummet om den även hade haft ett handfat - lite onödigt komplicerat att köa för att tvätta händerna när man är många i rummet.
We arrived before check in time and were offered an upgrade to a recently updated room that was ready if we joined their loyalty scheme which we did. Otherwise we could have just stored our luggage.
Had breakfast on one day and it was very good with a wide choice. The room was spacious and modern.
The steam room was out of order which was a shame. Not sure they were aware either.

Sehr schönes Hotel Nähe Paddington Bahnhof, aber trotzdem ruhig. Essen sehr gut, Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit. Gerne wieder.
