The Nines, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Portland

I had an exceptional experience at The Nines, made even more memorable by Cruz and the concierge team. From the outset, Cruz curated thoughtful and seamless itineraries for Willamette Valley and local Portland, which were clearly tailored to our preferences. The wine tastings she arranged were outstanding, each vineyard offered something distinct, and the overall flow of the day felt both elevated and effortless. It’s not easy to strike that balance, but she did so with precision. What stood out most was Cruz’s attention to detail and her ability to anticipate needs before I even articulated them. That level of care and professionalism is rare and worth recognizing.

If you’re planning a stay at The Nines and want a truly well-orchestrated experience, I highly recommend working with Cruz. She’s excellent at what she does.

My husband and I like to do staycations occasionally and we pick different hotels in downtown Portland. We chose this one because it’s part of the Marriott group and because we’ve eaten at both restaurants. Our experience staying at the hotel was great and would definitely do it again.

Beautiful hotel, attentive staff, Urban Farmer restaurant was stellar. Great location, even if a bit noisy with downtown atmosphere.

We had a truly delightful stay at The Nines; our room was beautiful, the staff were all lovely and warm, the food at both restaurants was delicious! We didn’t even need our car - the location couldn’t have been more convenient! We had such a great time walking to different places all over downtown Portland. This hotel may be pricey, but you get fantastic value for the cost. Our stay was truly luxurious!

We got charged for smoking fee and never smoked in that room. They can just smell something and have no proof at all. Money grab? Unfair? Liars?

We had to throw our joints away because of old TSA at PDX. The Nines found them in the trash and said there was an odor and popped us with a $500 fine.

They say they had to take the room off the market for a night, which I think is complete and utter lie.

Prove it.

Maybe Portland should worry about all the fentanyl going on in the streets and stop worrying about weed in hotel trash cans.

We could not have had a better experience at the Nines! Juan at the front desk checked us in and was able to upgrade us to an amazing corner suite on the 12th floor. He was extremely personable and so pleasant to talk with. We were in Portland shopping for dresses for my son’s wedding and the women at the concierge desk gave us wonderful advice on where to shop. We had a fantastic time and everything from check in to check out was top notch. We can’t wait to come back!

The staff were super key for making our experience extra special! They helped us whenever any issues came up and were extremely professional and just took care of the small things that made our stay feel seamless. The rooms were clean and well stocked with amenities and the hotel and restaurant had excellent food and drinks as well. Staff throughout the hotel were exceptional and wouldn’t trade them for the world and really help create the hotel.

Really enjoyed my stay at The Nines. The bed was cozy and comes with a good restaurant, Mackenzie was helpful and friendly. On top of that, the staff were warm, professional, and genuinely helpful throughout my visit. Their excellent service and attention to detail made a big difference. Lastly juan at the desk was very nice and help me to get nice room. Would happily back because of the good location and amazing service!

What a unique yet luxury experience! I know the history of the hotel used to be a department store and that theme is so cool to see and I how the hotel tries to keep that history intact as a memorable experience for guests. The staff made the experience even better
Sheryl, the concierge was full of helpful information and always with a big smile on her face willing to help with whatever question I had whether or not it was in her wheelhouse.
McKenzie was one of the living room servers and she always made our pre-dinner experience the best! And as in aside, the bartender whose name I think is Taylor made absolutely the best lattes! TJ and Jonathan great wait staff.
We did have a cocktail on the top floor one evening and the view was absolutely stunning. The weather happened to be gorgeous so there was a clear view of the mountains and the river. The vibe was a little too young for us so we went back downstairs to the urban farmer for dinner- much more our vibe.
Last but not least, the front desk staff: it was nice to experience such diverse backgrounds!
They always greeted us with a smile and welcome every single time and would chat if they weren’t too busy.!
The names I remember were Juan, Omina, Choma, Fatima, Esmeralda, and the visiting Asian guy who literally went out of his way to welcome every guest.!
