Hi Everyone,
I visited the hotel last June, and while my experience wasn't the best, I did meet some friendly staff members. Unfortunately, the hotel rooms were not very clean, and I found the door to be quite insecure. Given that this is a 3-star hotel located near the motorway, I believe improvements are needed to enhance its overall appearance. Additionally, the breakfast options were disappointing, as there weren't many choices available. It would also be beneficial to offer laundry services for guests staying longer than a week.
Oldbury (Birmingham) is up there with the likes of Paris and Milan: They're all destinations served by Ramada. Now, I've had two very different experiences at this hotel: the first time, the stay was let down by the fire alarm going off at 1 am, but I put this down as a one-off. The other time however, it was a very different story, as the fire alarm didn't go off until 3 am. Then 7 am. On the plus side, the fire alarms work and it does have a car park. Would recommend for people constantly worried about burning to death during the night, or the deaf.
This hotel is conveniently located close to Jn 2 on the M5 and close to the Hawthorns for football. The staff are very friendly and professional and always welcome us back with a smile.
We enjoy the food in the restaurant (excellent value) and have met many interesting fellow guests in the lounge bar.
The hotel was really disappointing . The staff were civil but were not particularly helpful or welcoming. The rooms were poor and were not clean. Additionally the rooms were poorly laid out necessitating having to shuffle between the bathroom door and the handbasin to access the bathroom. The furniture was shabby and the bed was very uncomfortable. The food was average. Very significantly overpriced.
The room was poorly appointed and not clean. The furniture was worn and the bed was horribly uncomfortable. The service was poor. I expected far better for the price paid.
Staff were more interested in watching their phones and talking to eachother, wifi not working, room dirty, sheets stained, handwash in bathroom was washing up liquid, bed really uncomfortable, fixtures in room look damaged and scruffy
Very nice hotel, helpful staff and friendly. The hotel was in a very convenient position at jct. 2 on the M5.The restaurant was very good and reasonably priced.
It wasn't the best, the room had patches of wall not painted. The bedsides lamps didnt work. The duvet cover and pillow case were ripped at the seams. The entrance and reception area look lovely. A shame the rooms looked so shabby.
Plenty of free parking in a great location. Excellent shower but the flooring in the bedroom needs replacing.
First room smelt like someone had been smoking.
Bathroom very cramped.
Lights near the bed didn't work.
The list goes on.
I was not impressed with my stay at the Ramada Hotel Oldbury Birmingham. The rooms were very outdated, the bed was uncomfortable, the flooring was worn and the bathroom door had water damage and was peeling away. This is the worst hotel stay i have ever experienced far below what I would expect.
Car park and check in we had no problems.
Excellent location for getting the bus into bham if wanting to stay outside the city.
Unfortunately the bed sheets had stains on them, genuinely unsure if they weren't changed from the previous visit? The bathroom was not very clean.
Convenient for going into bham for a concert but won't return unfortunately.
AC is not working and washrooms is uncleaned and housekeeping knocked the door at 9am for cleaning but mu checkout timing is 11.00 clock i never stay again here i cant suggest this hotel
Was not very clean, the room was not fresh, we asked for an iron and board and was told it was locked into another guest room and they are gone out.
The beds were terrible, very cheap and uncomfortable.
Ground floor was so noisy. Very disappointed!😞
Reception area looks very smart. Room 10, we stayed in did not reflect reception. Bathroom poor standard, flush had to be used multiple times, shower door stiff and creaking. Pipe work all visible with poor finish. Bedroom had poor finish, with damaged areas not repaired
Fantastic
Indifferent check in staff . Room stunk if stale cigarette smoke. Furniture tired and vattered. Mattress lump, curtain hanging off. Public areas unkept and tired. Nothing to like about this hotel apart from cheap Guinness.
Nice place nice people
This was my second stay within two weeks, and unfortunately I encountered several issues on both visits:
First stay: I had to change rooms because the original room had clearly been smoked in.
Second stay:
The sink plug was missing, making it impossible to use the basin properly.
The mattress was far too soft, which aggravated my bad back on both visits.
While using Deep Heat spray in the bathroom, I was quickly overwhelmed by the fumes as the extraction fan was not working. This could have been a serious health risk, as poor ventilation might have caused me to collapse. I raised this with the night porter (Arnold), who was very helpful, but this issue was beyond his control.
Overall, these problems—particularly the smoking, poor maintenance, and faulty ventilation—had a significant impact on my comfort and wellbeing. I hope these matters can be addressed promptly to prevent similar issues for future guests.
I would definitely stay there again
