Location and price. Other hotels in the area are so much more expensive. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We had a short walk to bars and eateries, so for us, a very pleasant stay over.
Excellent value hotel, very friendly, clean and well run. Very good cooked breakfast and extremely convenient location if travelling by train.
Road-facing room a little noisy. Old property so floorboards creaky from adjacent rooms. There didn’t seem to be air conditioning.

The shower gel holder was either broken or not full.
This meant exiting the shower to use the sink soap applicator and get back in the shower whilst wet. The step down from the shower was around 10 inches. Anyone less agile than us could have fallen which is a health and safety issue. I did report it.
Location , great for getting about within walking distance around Kendal
A little dated very low on staff
Die Zimmer und das Bad waren geräumig.
Das Bett war bequem, das Frühstück sehr gut.
Es gab keine Steckdosen am Bett.
Einige Artikel fehlten im Bad, wurden dann aber schnell nachgefüllt.
Staff
Nothing
The location is perfect for anyone arriving by train, just by the station with everything in town easily walkable. There's really good coffee nearby and you can reach the castle without too much trouble.
Checkin was simple and fast and the room was very clean.
The room was a little sparse and the shower was ok, leaking a bit and the soap wasn't great. The wall might have been a bit thin or maybe there was just a champion snorer next door. Breakfast was alright and while I appreciated the choice of hot items, the other stuff was a bit meh.
Good location, hotel could do with a refresh.
Rooms were comfortable but housekeeping could be improved dusty skirting and windowsill, although bathroom was very clean.
Breakfast was cooked to order and was enjoyable.
Reception staff were not very welcoming, too interested in their phone. Also, when I went to pay, they asked me for a physical card which is an unusual request.
The hotel looked very tired and dated, with dirty paintwork on doors and around door frames. Our triple room was quite dusty and hadn't been cleaned properly.
It’s opposite the train station
I rang the bell at the front desk twice the morning of checkout to ask a question and no one came
Great location to train station
Very noisy traffic and night needs double glazing
Nice room good breakfast
Room had bath with shower over bath my partner is disabled and couldn’t use bath and shower only ran cold water so had to wash at sink . there’s lack of reception staff after check in and the call button isn’t answered and there isn’t a phone in room
Great location, right by train station.short walk to town centre.
Understaffed 1 young girl running bar area, reception and delivering food wich caused massive delays for everything.no breakfast included even though 74 per night.view of noisy staircase right by window,no wifi signal from arriving.
Decent rooms, reasonable price, nice walk into central Kendal
Hotel was very warm
The rooms are very comfortable, the staff is great and the breakfast was good and copious!
Great value for the price!
It is a short walk away from the river and bridge. The restaurant "Tanners" has a beautiful view of the river and the bridge, well worth to go to and have dinner or a drink.
There is unfortunately no car park (that is however indicated in the description so all good) but we found a car park not too far away (in the street parallel to the Lidl) which was not too expensive.
