We had a quiet family room (room 222). It was really clean and comfortable. The staff we met were really lovely and the cooked breakfast was spot on. Absolutely delicious. We will stay again as we have friends nearby.
Breakfast was good value. The food was varied and met both our preferences. The staff serving at breakfast were helpful, sociable and efficient.
Both reception staff were helpful and friendly.
The room was clean , nicely decorated, comfortable beds and pillows.we could open the windows to let in fresh air. We liked the kettle and provisions in the Room. Nice soft and thick towels.
The actual appearance of the front of the building on arrival is not as attractive as it could be.
The hotel was virtually empty so why not put guests in the rooms over looking the golf course? We were on the drive way to a large car park which was very busy and noisy on Sunday morning with traffic.
ive stayed here for the past two weeks and will be for another 4. This is one of the friendliest hotels ive stayed in. Rooms are great an comfortable, the restaurant is great the gym is superb and the staff are amazing. Nothing is too much of a stress. A short drive to Radstock which has some great places to eat and drink. What more can you ask for.
Booked for 6 weeks with work colleagues, love the hotel and especially the gym!! My only fault which isn’t a problem the food is the same on the menu and not a lot of choices but saying that there are tons of other restaurants around the area! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and excellent service
Good location, room clean, with a great view over the golf course. Restaurant service and food very good.
The weekend weather!!!
Great location and lovely rooms
The pillows
Young Staff in Saturday and Sunday in the restaurant/ bar where excellent very professional and very hardworking and chatty.
On the Monday new staff came on shift at breakfast and there was a marked difference, they where not friendly, chatted to each other instead nit good service.
restaraunt lack atmosphere .
Room was clean, shower amazing & windows could be opened.
The room was very clean
The gravel on the car park was quite annoying over night with cars coming and going
It was beautiful! Love to come back and make the most of facilities.
I was a guest at the Centurion Hotel on Monday 22nd December 2025.
I was immediately impressed when I entered. The receptionist was brilliant. She smiled when she greeted me. She was highly efficient, knowledgable and I was made to feel welcome. It was a good first impression.
Overall I was very impressed by the hotel staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Everyone seemed to enjoy their work and were happy.
My room was clean, tidy and there were plenty of electric sockets. However there was no air conditioning. I found this unusual for a premium rated hotel. Although I am a healthy person who is almost 70, I did find getting out of the shower a challenge as there was no rail to hold on to. I almost slipped. However to be fair to the ‘ Centurion’ I have experienced this issue at other ‘ Best Western’ Hotels.
The hotel is situated on the edge of an Industrial estate and at night it can sometimes be noisy. However it is good location for a meal at a local Somerset pub. A 10 minute walk along a pavement towards Wells will take you to the ‘White Post Inn’. Here you can mix with the locals, drink a pint of Somerset cider and have a great meal in front of a roaring open log fire. A bus stop is nearby with direct busses to Bath, Wells, Bristol and many picturesque Somerset villages.
I was very disappointed with the continental breakfast. I frequently stay at ‘ Best Western’ Hotels and look forward to enjoying the amazing ‘ Best Western’ buffet breakfast. Be warned. ‘The Centurion ‘does not follow the same system as other ‘Best Western Hotels’. A very small selection of fruits, 2 fruit juices and several pastries greeted me. I was told that the ‘ Centurion is different from the rest of the ‘ Best Western’ group because is independently owned and managed. The ‘Centurion’has withdrawn its buffet breakfast. Sadly the hotel lacks the expected consistency of the ‘ Best Western’ brand. When I commented the server tried to be very helpful and scurried around looking for what I wanted. I could not fault her effort to be kind. However the selection on offer was very limited. As I have a grapefruit allergy I was disappointed that the juices were not labeled. I would suggest taking a Continental breakfast at ‘ Costa’ or Wetherspoons’ a short walk away. My breakfast experience tended to put a damper on my stay and I felt miserable for the next few hours.
Although, the Centurion has a lot of good points going for it, in my opinion, it does not offer a premium choice hotel experience for the price. For this reason I have felt it was fair to lower my final overall rating.
Our visit to the Centurion was excellent and very reasonably priced. The room was very satisfactory, a standard double on the ground floor. The only comment about the room was that the large window faced directly out onto a busy service road and carpark, meaning the room was quite exposed, it needed privacy curtains. We had to keep the main curtains closed in the morning as we were getting dressed. We had a drink in the bar, which had a good selection of wines, and then ate in the restaurant. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. I ordered fish and chips, but with the fish unbattered, meaning that it had to be cooked from fresh and not pre-prepared. This was absolutely no problem (even some high end restaurants won't do this!!). My husband enjoyed his pie and chips, with extra gravy. We didn't have desserts so we can't comment on those. Overall, a very pleasant stay and we would definitely stay there again.
