The hotel was very friendly. Not far from the main beach and old town. Quiet for those not wanting the noise. Pool area lovely, food excellent. Staff very amenable. Most guests return every year. Activities most days , evening shows were variable in standard. Would definitely consider staying there again

The number 1 reason that I keep returning to this hotel is the staff. Without exception they are a real asset to the hotel. Friendly, helpful and always with a smile. And you get to see a great many repeat guests too, a mix of nationalities. The hotel overall has a fairly quiet and calm atmosphere, but enough that it’s anything but boring.

Location of the hotel is another positive for me – very central so that its walkable to most places you might want to visit and on the doorstep of the old town. I was really pleased to see the refurbishment of the rooms – no longer tired and dark, the makeover gives them a clean, simple and bright feel. The bed was incredibly comfortable and everything worked. A great walk in shower in the bathroom. It felt like the sound proofing had also been significantly improved. All commendable.

Food quality and quantity was always good. With it being a fairly small hotel, there is never a vast choice on offer, but more than enough to satisfy even a fussy eater like myself.

The bar area is always clean and tidy and the waiters attentive. A great choice of drinks on offer. If you’re staying all-inc through a package holiday, you’ll likely be “blue”, which gives you a good selection of wine, beer and other drinks. If you book direct with the holiday, or pay the small upgrade fee for “gold”, you get the full package including all the branded drinks.

And I have to mention David, the entertainment/animation lead. Some great activities during the day (including wine and egg painting over easter, which was so much fun), some quizzes or interactive games in the evening, usually followed by a singer/band. David works incredibly hard and such a nice guy. Just not quite as nice as Narcissa :-)

We have just had a 4 night stay at this hotel and it was excellent.
The location was fabulous, and the staff working both the restaurant and reception were friendly, professional and really helpful, as was the animacion guy (sorry we didn’t do your egg painting though!).
Breakfast was plentiful, with bacon, eggs on grill as required.
Evening meal had a nice variety.
The rooms were clean, and bed particularly the pillows very comfy.
We couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more and would definitely recommend.

Stayed at RH Royal for a week, this hotel is excellent for food and the rooms are all newly refurbished and the beds really comfy. The entertainment manager is called David and he’s great at all the games around the pool. The evening entertainment is great too. I will definitely be back..

Back again and as we expected just PERFECT. ALL the staff are just so lovely and welcoming. Our last visits we thought the rooms were great, they have now and still upgrading the rooms and it’s from home to home experience. Ceiling fan, new carpet and new decor, simply beautiful and VERY CLEAN, bedding and towels changed everyday.
Atmosphere is wonderful.
Day time entertainment was done by a cheeky chap called Dave, he made everyone laugh and was great fun to be around, he’d be an amazing children’s entertainer.
Great value for money, we will always come here.

Just back from a lovely week at the Royal spent with family and friends, found the staff excellent and very helpful throughout the hotel, Alain the entertainment chap works hard getting people to participate in the games and has a great sense of humour ( just don't tell him you need to go to the toilet). Food was average but always found something to eat and enjoy, the discounted drinks were worth paying for if you like the premium brands. Overall a very enjoyable quieter than normal week for us. 8.5-9.0 out of 10 :-)

The location was really good,in a quiet area but close to the sea front ,bars and restaurants.
The choice of food at breakfast and dinner was really good

Just back from this hotel & honestly couldn’t fault it. They couldn’t do enough for us. Visited with my elderly mother & stayed 4 nights. Food,service,room & staff were fantastic. It was ideally situated & a short walk from old town & about 20mins from the strip. The hotel was spotless & the room was beautiful. Not a hotel for young adults looking to party as it is geared toward older generation. There was work going on on the lower floors & we never heard or saw anything.
Ventured out to the market which is on Sunday & Wednesday & is huge & a great wee day out.
Took the tram from Benidorm to Denia which was another fantastic day out. Bit of an uphill trek to the tram station so if mobility issues beware but my 84yr old mother managed it!
Hotel entertainment wasn’t for me but my mum enjoyed it as did the other older guests.
On the morning we left at 4.30 they opened the kitchen for us to get some tea & toast & gave us a plentiful picnic for our journey. Absolutely not a bad thing to say about it.
For the young bar tender who was an excellent dancer keep it up it was a joy to watch.
Definitely will visit again.

Just returned after a week at this lovely hotel. Our room 710 was one of the best we’ve ever stayed in, it was spacious with plenty of Storage, TV with British channels, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom was also well equipped with a walk in shower. The location is fantastic for the new and old town and the food was exceptionally good. The staff were always friendly and happy to help. The only downside was the evening entertainment which was a bit ‘cheesy’ at times. This wouldn’t put me off going again though and I would highly recommend.
