Staff friendliness. The Welsh biscuits and ice popsicles at the reception upon arrival.
No vending machine with snacks. I got hungry at night and there is no vending machine available in the hotel.
Location was great and room was ok although a bit small
The parking was mis sold as it was sold as part of the booking, only after the booking did I get a message stating I have to pay on arrival but it was not guaranteed..........THIS IS A BIT LET DOWN

You can’t pay or get a room on arrival! You have to book an online!
Location excellent as close to the railway and bus station, also the river, water taxis from the park opposite, and shops./restaurants. We caught a bus from outside the hotel to go to St Fagans museum, and had the choice of transport to visit the bay area and Penarth.
Reception staff were friendly and efficient. The room was quite soundproofed so we weren't disturbed by other guests. We had chosen a north-facing room (overlooking the park) in case of a heatwave, and so pleased we did, as we find aircon noisy. The room remained cool and it was also pleasant to look out over tree tops. This side of the hotel overlooks a busy road but traffic noise didn't penetrate too much when we had the window and vent closed. The room was very comfortable as was the bed. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that, but the lounge bar was comfortable and reasonably priced with attentive serving staff.
As I prefer stairs, I was surprised that on emerging from the stairwell there were signs for some of the room numbers, but not all of them, so I had to go on a mystery tour to find our room. Obviously management expects everyone to emerge from the lifts, where the directions were complete.
Sustainability: We were pleased that toiletries were in dispensers to save on packaging, but disappointed that plastic bottles of water were supplied in the room. These are not sustainable and gives the message that the tap water is undrinkable. We were surprised that there was no keycard controlling the power in the room, which meant you could leave the room empty all day with aircon running and lights on, wasting power.

Best Hotel if you visit Cardiff.
1) you're near the Castle with the Nature Park
2) you're near the center of Cardiff
3) prices and services are relative cheap for Cardiff-City
4) Staff is very friendly and will help you, wherever it can
5) My room was very clean. I really appreciated that (a clean room is the most important thing for me)
6) Shower water-pressure is very good (is often a prob. in the UK).
7) Good Bar, open till 1 am and good Beer, (Lager, IPA, Guinness) with very friendly Barkeepers
8) Very good breakfast
9) Fast WIFI - very strong signal and good coverage, a large TV Screen in the room
10) Cleaning staff is very friendly and helpfull, I appreciate
Now the negatives:
1) yes, it should be renovated, the doors and a few other things, are a bit worn out
2) don't know.... and thought about 15 min.to find a negativ point more, didn't find it sorry :)
All in all, i would highly recommend this hotel - and no, i'm not getting paid for this review. I was completely satisfied..
