Great hotel wonderful staff. Breakfast was great
Dinner food wasnt that good but good enough
1. At this price point (R3000 per night) I expect to have a gown available in the room. I arrived late in the evening and needed to take a hot shower, only to be told that the hotel doesn’t provide gowns. So I had to either dress up again or use my towel while in the room. It’s ridiculous, I’ve been to cheaper hotels that provide gowns.
2. We knew that we would have a very early morning the next day so we made prior arrangements by calling the hotel even before we checked in and requested that our breakfast be packed and ready by 6am, we would just pick it up and go. We confirmed what food we wanted over the phone and The staff member confirmed everything was in order. When we eventually arrived and checked in later that evening, we again asked reception if our arrangement for the next morning was in order and yet again we got confirmation. 6Am the next morning we get to reception and our food is not there. Nobody knows where it is, a bag of food comes out and it’s not ours. Then we were told to wait while they tried to figure out where our food was. After about 10 minutes I had to just tell them to forget everything because we were out of time and we left without the food. The reason we made the prior arrangement was because we knew we would not have time to wait in the morning, so all that waiting was just defeating the purpose. This was a really disappointing experience.
Keep up the good work..
GPS did not take us to the actual front gate.
Good and safe location
Everything
We liked everything.
The hotel is BEAUTIFUL, clean and the staff is very friendly.
The service at the restaurant was poor. Food and drinks took very long to be served. Maybe the kitchen was understaffed but the overall experience was just frustrating. Unfortunate as the hotel was really beautiful and well located.
The reception staff in general
My friend got food poisoning and ended ulninbthe hospital
There were snacks at the bar
Nice,clean and Quiet
Nothing
Our buffet breakfast was superb and the service was excellent.
Staff were fantastic and the rooms were very nice. I found it a bit expensive for one night. I have no problem paying for good food but found R38 for a small can of coke for my grandkids a bit steep. I have stayed in this hotel every time I come through from Cape Town to Jhb and back. Prices have changed substantially since my last trip.
Pricing was high otherwise everything was great. Will look for something a little more reasonably priced R3500 for grand parents and two grand children per night🫣
Location - walking distance to The Big Hole, breakfast, kind staff, decoration with plenty of historical photos, secure parking,
Cold croissants at breakfast.
Friendly staff.
There was no fish when room service lunch was ordered.
