Spa was fantastic. Service was excellent. Hotel is dated as seen by peeling wallpaper, a phone next to toilet that is inoperable and low budget art on the walls.
Do not hesitate to book this amazing place.
About 1500m above sea level, but only 30 mins by taxi, this place is idyllic and is in a lovely spot nearby many forests towards the national park.
The food needs an honourable mention, the restaurant for dinner was incredible. The prices are medium-high but absolutely justified, incredible food and some good veggie options. Breakfast was decent too.
We had a Mountain View room and it was great, fab shower and bed.
The spa was great, good sauna, steam room, pool, hottub and we had a great massage too.
We did a few hikes and recommend downloading the Explora Vilaflor app to find a few good routes.
There’s a great vineyard 2km south of the hotel too.
The 4* rating is probably spot on. Could push for 5* with a few touches - we’ll be back.
This is the perfect place for a retreat.
OMG was this great. The place is located at an elevation of 1500m, but only half hour from the Tenerife South airport. Its at the end of a street, super quiet, and surrounded by great hike opportunities. The spa is awesome, really rich equipped gym, awesome breakfast (I did not try the restaurant), super lovely staff (who all speak also English at least). Super nice surroundings like a small private park. I will be back for sure.
Really excellent hotel away from the beaches and bustle.
Loved our stay at the Villalba - a real gem tucked away in the pine forests just above Vilaflor, the highest village in the Canaries. We had a garden view room with balcony - very comfortable with a huge bed. We ate most nights in the hotel restaurant with excellent and varied dishes, including vegetarian. Desserts to die for! In the day there are some amazing trails to hike with stunning views and a feeling like you've got the whole mountain to yourself. And once you've put in the miles, the well-equipped spa was a real treat for aching muscles. A car is advisable if you want to explore the island (the northern end is magical) and the lunar landscape at the foot of Mount Teide is only a short drive away. Lastly, the staff were lovely, going above and beyond to answer questions and help us with everything. It was our thirtieth wedding anniversary and I couldn't think of a better place to spend it.
Great mountain retreat. A really excellent 4* hotel and spa outside the highest village of vilaflor in tenerife. With a few tweeks it could easily have been a 5* experience. Easy car parking on cul de sac road but no help with luggage, just one person on duty at all times. We had a terrace room with a hot tub which included a good-sized bedroom and a sitting room. The bathroom was big, twin basins, with a shower over a jacuzzi bath. With the amount of room, it would have been nice to have had a separate walk-in shower, and the taps on the bath didn't enable it to be used by two people. Surprisingly, the bathroom was not supplied with shampoo or conditioner nor any tablet soap. There wasn't anywhere to hang robes and towels near the hot tub or jacuzzi, and the shelves had not been dusted. The sitting area had a TV, a fridge with bottled water, nespresso coffee, and a kettle.
Nice dining area in a conservatory which had patio heaters required in January. Pity the windows weren't cleaned well. Adequate breakfast with cooked items to order. Lunch and dinner were the same menu. Generally, very good food and excellent staff.
Pleasant lounge area but no bar and difficult to order drinks.
We couldn't find any information about the hotel and its history nor much about vilaflor. Discovered the star gazing night at the hotel by accident- but it was a great experience. The spa and pool in the basement was capable of opening to the outside but not in January! And it was a little too cool for us.
There are several nice walks into the pine forest and across the valley to the village and the "big pines." Two or three day-time cafés in the village but we didn't find anywhere near to eat in the evening.
I hope my comments are taken as constructive criticism, which could probably be dealt with by management. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return for longer next year.
Could be a super adress but too much dysfonctioning
1- we had a reservation for a double luxe Mountain view which is a good option as the road is silent after 8 pm and you can take a morning coffee on your private terrace at sunrise.
But we got the 107, the nearest/reception and at groundfloor.
I ask for a room at 2nd floor
- first respons : they are not such in your category. False as I got one year before
- 2nd respons : we are busy .False : the room above us was empty and also 2 on the other aisle.
2-The restaurant offer very good option for dining but the service is sometime too very long : 1 h between being seated and arrival of the soup is usual.
The service is very noisy : girls, spins on the floor and also bottle of wine.
The last diner was the summum : 2h15 mn and there was not all the option : 3 fish option on 5, 2 desserts also was missing. We understand that there was a problem in kitcheenn but noone explains to us.
Thank to the fact the room ( New addition) is perfect : Nice véranda on the garden.
3- on arrival , on the card( picture) we were allowed an halfboard schedule.
And at check out they argue that this was a mistake. Normally they have to assume THEIR mistake but noway , neither a diminution. They went agressive , with menace to complain about a no pay…
Beware there are now new options in the town and also Parador has made progress and so we will think about the next time
So how an accumulation of little things « make a 5 points becoming a 3 points and I hesitate to give even a 2 points
Stayed here for two nights on an Inntravel walking holiday. The staff were lovely, the food excellent and the location and ambience of the hotel delightful.
The spa and pool are an added delight.
In January it was Coll in the evenings due to the altitude but still much warmer than the UK!
This is a superb hotel, we visited just after new year. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and clean. You get a great choice for breakfast and the omelettes are the best we have ever tasted. The staff are all incredibly friendly and provide very good information on walks etc. Spa Facilities are also really good.
Evening meals and drinks are reasonably priced and good quality, only very minor point is the starters seem to be overpriced compared to everything else.
Great quiet location, set in lovely grounds, easy to get to Mount Tiede and national park and about 35min drive to coast. There are also some nice restaurants in the village but best to check opening times. I would say you do need a car, we found Topcar at Tenerife airport to be good.
A great experience, we would like to return and would definitely recommend.
Very conveniently located for walks. Staff at reception are very helpful providing lots of advice on walks and things to do. Several walking paths start at the hotel itself. The gym and spa are very well equipped. The restaurant breakfast is fresh tasty and healthy- there is a a la carte breakfast menu with various eggs cheeses sausage options as well as a buffet of fresh bread, fruit, nuts, spreads , cheese sausages etc. The chefs are amazing- the a la carte cooking is top notch ! The rooms are very comfortable and serviced very well each day. The hotel stocks Reverón wines which is owned by the same family who own the hotel - the wines are high quality and very reasonably priced , it is worth touring the Reveron vineyard that you can take a long hike to from the hotel. This hotel is right for those who want to do walking and appreciate nature and good food - not the type of place for a noisy party animal holiday. The roads leading up to the hotel are very winding and we did not like driving on them in the night so made sure to be back at the hotel by around 6:00 pm each day. It would be nice to have more English language options on hotel TV as well football channels like sky sport.
We’ve been in the hotel several times and it’s always a pleasure and can’t wait for the next one! The surrounding are amazing and the lovely people working there make you feel like at home! Also the restaurant offers a nice selection of food and dishes
Staff was excellent and highly motivated. Spa facilities were nice but not super-modern, still clean and cosy. Room and restaurant lovely, food in restaurant was expensive but nice and local. My babygirl was happy all over.
This stay is the perfect location for those looking to hike and enjoy the national parks of the area. The staff were excellent and extremely helpful. The front desk gentleman with the longer hair helped us pick some different hiking options in the area as well as other tips and tricks. I will be recommending this property to my friends, family, and coworkers when I get home. Thank you!
Receptionists were particularly good - very very helpful and considerate. Food in restaurant was above expectations and the room was very spacious
Fabulous hotel in idyllic location near the national park. Staff very friendly. Rooms lovely. Stunning views over the pine forest and Vilaflor. Food excellent. Lovely new dining room/conservatory bringing the outside in. Beautiful walks from the hotel. Small indoor pool and spa facilities.
liked that it was by park and walkable
only negative was the bed was extra firm
This hotel is a real gem. A long way up the mountain and away from the masses, perfect peace. The spa was bigger than expected and comprehensive as were the treatments. The only thing I would say is there is a pan Asian theme to the food but with some dishes not hitting the mark. Staff very friendly and our room fabulous. Great for trekking!
The hotel was in a good location for hiking and biking up in mountain. Overall a good experience with an excellent spa.
Only minus would be my room was located next to the reception so you could hear people talking and music but only faintly. It was quiet during the night tough.
And the breakfast was a little disappointing with the section for a 4 star hotel. Worse thing would be they served frozen and not fresh fruit.
Personal was friendly and helpful.
Wunderbare, erholsame Lage. Personal einfach nur nett. Alles! da was man braucht einschließlich SPA. Sind nur ungern abgereist
Tolles Hotel mit wunderbarer Parklandschaft. Gute Wandermöglichkeiten in der Nähe; einziger Minuspunkt - teilweise ist das Personal im Essemsbereich eher unfreundlich.
