Pros: Cheap price..... Good location at the entrance of the old city, free parking.
Cons : Wi-Fi only in common area, coffee is disgusting, bed is saggy, Shower is tiny, room has seen better days, staff is not available.
I arrived in Aggrigento and first hotel I saw was Amici. A great name by the way. I entered, met english spoken receptionist (a rarity in italian hotels) and got the key. Hotel not a splendid one, but view from room is a killer ! Valley of the Temples in a distance, lit columns, and a mystery to discover waiting there for you. Hotel in just in centre so I went to wander in narrow streets, by chance saw a gig, eat and had a good night sleep. Relaxed and fed (not much for breakfast) went back in ancient times ....
The only good thing about this hotel was its position. Also not expensive.Hard to find - set back off the road and not signed well. Limited parking in front - lucky we were early! The girl who checked us in had no English at all.We were unable to open our door, very complicated lock. Bed was two singles pushed together. Only one bed lamp. Bathroom terrible - light did not work, shower head broken - had to hold it in one hand.Floors were putrid! My husband always walks around in bare feet and they were black! The room did not have a safe or'fridge.Breakfast was rolls, croissants and tea/coffee. We would not return to this hotel. Have never said that before. We are a well travelled couple and definitely not fussy!
I spent 3 days in Agrigento, mainly to visit the Valley of the Temples of course, but the extra time was to see the Archaeological museum, and wander around the town. My room was small but very comfortable. The breakfast is pretty basic, ideal for me as I don't eat much in the mornings. The coffee was ok, the fresh croissant and bread rolls were delicious. Free Wi-Fi is available, but only in the lobby.
Location is excellent, as the hotel is over the road from the train station, about 10 or 15 minutes' walk from the bus station, and close to the stop for buses to the temples and the museum. It's also only a few minutes away from via Atenea, the main street through the town, which is worth exploring. There are many side streets, steep, almost vertical, but it's worth clambering about.
great location but very difficult to find. we found the hotel, parked the car and walked/bussed everwhere. the staff were excellent.
very very close from the station.
spacious but old and basic hotel.
staff was nice and helpful.
sheets bed are not so clean and not so good.
The first problem was finding the hotel and how to get to the parking lot. When we figured that out, the parking lot was small and very minimal spaces to park. The lady at the front desk was very polite when we arrived. We received the room key to what was suppose to be a nice stay for 4 people. It was an absolute dump; old dirty sheets, dirty floors, the ac wasn't turned on ahead of time, nor were windows opened. Very tight space between two rooms, having to walk through one bedroom to get to the bathroom.
We found hair in the bed sheets, as well as, live ants crawling around.
When we spoke with the gentleman at the desk, he was very rude, would not give us our money back nor give up another room. He said that's what we get for booking through expedia. I explained I also have and have never had a problem. We showed him the issues in the room, changes the bed sheets that only had the ants in them and left the rest. We asked for extra towels to sleep on top of and they too came back with stains and human hair on them. We left bright and early in the morning, restless and disgusted. We will never stay here again and do not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Hotel Amici is in a central position near the railway station and is also in walking distance of lots of restaurants. The staff were very helpful but the bathroom could have been better cleaned particularly the floor. It was good to find a hotel in the town with parking.
Ottimo hotel, personale molto cortese
This is a perfect hotel for mature people, the room are big and clean, people fron the desck are very friendly and tried to pleese you in any way they can. The outdoor patio invite you to spent some time having a coffe o just relax.
The hotel is near the city, restaurant, train station, . Breakfast have a variety of food , is a nice hotel if you want to stay a few days.
If you like to have a espresso you can ask at the desk and they make for you any time for little money.
If you are looking to explore Agrigento without paying over the top, Hotel Amici is the hotel for you.
The rooms are basic but clean. My partner and I required somewhere to shower and sleep, this hotel was perfect, and is located a few minutes walk from the historical city of Agrigento.
The hotel is located within easy reach of the 'highway', which meant we were able to travel to different locations with ease.
The breakfast was basic, but ideal if you just wanted to grab a coffee and a piece of cake (the Italians love their cake for breakfast..!)
The staff were friendly and helpful, and you would struggle to find anything negative to say about the Hotel.
One thing to be a ware of if visiting Agrigento, is to prepare to experience the most craziest driving you will ever encounter... It truly is like the wacky races in real life!
Stayed for 2 nights Hotel close to the railway station and bus stop just outside the hotel to take you to the Valley of Temples.if you decide to walk down on the right hand side is a very good Museum well worth Dropping in, The hotel reception of good size and rooms fair beware the showers are tight. Breakfast could be better if you are late hardly anything leaved.
If you wish to leave by Inter Bus Straight up the road pass a small park it's at the top of the hill.Overall a pleasant stay.
.
Our double bed was two singles put together, so it wasn't very confortable. The room was made to look clean but there was little attention to details. And breakfast was horrible. Horrible. Prepackaged crackers set out every night for the next day's breakfast. The location was fine for getting about town to the incredible sights and staff was friendly.
Habitaciones set enteras
