Millennium Downtown

Unfortunately, I have not had such good experiences in the hotel.
The safe in room 1818 didn't work. We booked a club room and it lacked smart TV and coffee machine. Changed the room the next day and got an upgrade. Many thanks to Panashe from Reception. Unfortunately, in the new room 1602 the bed smelled extremely like urine. Reported it to Reception. In the evening, the bed continued to stink. Had to take out the pad itself and this one was yellow from urine. Had these changed. The cleaner changed it, but the room door was left open when we got back. We had at the table the valuable Nintendo console worth 600 €. You can't do that.

The swimming pool was pleasantly warm, but whirlpool extremely hot. Reported it, hopefully it works now.

The Club Lounge was also closed due to Ramadan. We asked for free drinks to the room twice at reception and unfortunately received none.

On the day of departure I had to look for the clothes from the cleaning, but got them back in time from the departure.

I've never had so many problems in a hotel. Too bad.

Superb hotel to stay. Very well administration, hospitality and care. Especially, Mr. Abin, who was there to solve all my queries as well as some minor difficulties.

I had a wonderful time at Millennium. The service was excellent, provided by very welcoming staff members (Phyo, Bisal, and Sithu)

Was a bit disappointed on arrival at the area and outside looks of hotel as was unexpectedly moved from an originally booked hotel. But the inside is interesting and clean and the food was great. The staff were wonderful. I left my phone in a taxi and within minutes Solomon got it returned to me so thanks so much for that. So reassuring along with other concierge staff, along with the politeness of all the staff made it an enjoyable stay. Rooftop pool was lovely.

Disappointing cleanliness and service

Unfortunately, my stay was let down by several issues. The bathroom sink looked unpleasant, with visible stains that clearly couldn’t be scrubbed away, and the water drainage was blocked, causing the sink to drain very slowly.

Breakfast was average, but the cleanliness was again a concern. The coffee mugs were dirty, as if they hadn’t been washed properly. I tried taking two different mugs and both had visible coffee stains.

When I raised these concerns with the receptionist, his reaction was unprofessional, he laughed as if I was joking, which was quite annoying and dismissive. To his credit, he did offer to change the room, subject to availability, but the overall experience left a poor impression.

Cleanliness and staff attitude need significant improvement.

I had a great stay at the hotel, Miss Dilki made it easy for us to stay at the hotel, she upgraded our rooms which was wonderful

The only positive aspects of this stay were the Filipina receptionist and the Filipino concierge staff, both of whom were polite, helpful, and professional in responding to our inquiries.

Aside from that, the experience was unacceptable. I specifically booked a non-smoking room, yet the room smelled strongly of cigarettes. This is a basic standard that the hotel failed to enforce.

Even worse, the room had poor to no soundproofing. Other occupants could clearly hear our normal conversations, including simple talking and the sound of doors closing. This is a serious privacy issue and made the stay uncomfortable.

Management needs to take immediate action to enforce non-smoking policies and improve room soundproofing. This level of quality does not meet reasonable guest expectations.

The food and service at the restaurant was very good. Phyo was very helpful and pleasant. He did a great job giving us a great experience.

Wonderful hotel. Excellent breakfast. Good service. Nicely arranged pool area. Very warm pool. No noises from the street.
