La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Kyle - Austin South

The first room I was to check into on the second floor the door could not be opened when I came to the front desk since I was traveling with a dog I was offered a first floor room 106. The staff failed to inform me that the electrical outlets did not work bedside or in the bathroom, I had to go to my event with wet hair as I had no time to explore if it was an outlet situation or a hair dryer problem. The room door did not close properly and by my 3rd night it would not lock at all and I was moved to yet a third room. I took my dog out of the side doors to relieve herself but was unable to use a key fob to come back in that way and had to return to the front lobby to reach my room. When I asked about that I was told that happpens some time. Later I was told that both my room and the hall exit door was a known problem and they were waiting on a electrician who had done a shoddy job initially. Also the grass around the property was quite tall and there were some trip hazards like garden hoses left out and cinder blocks. The hallway on my side of the property smelled extremely musty and damp. The room did not smell bad or other areas of the hotel were ok.

The rooms were not clean. There was dirt stains all in the bath. Inadequate lighting. The thermostat was reading 82 the whole time.. we were there for a baseball tournament in the pool was inoperable

Housekeeping was inconsistent.

Getting to the location, passed it up the first time as they share a drvway with the gas station next and the pavement was all torn up. Needs a sign of some kind pointing out to turn in at the gas station,

The swimming pool was dirty… it needed cleaning

This place gives La Quintas a bad name. Potholes leading to the entrance. Broken elevator for at least a week. All ice machines did not work. Friendly clerk at front desk, who was so apologetic. I told her she might consider finding another hotel to work at. Friendly breakfast lady. Can you imagine housekeeping having to lug all the cleaning carts up 2 and 3 flights of stairs?! Shame on the owners.

If you took a shower, the water ran all over the floor because the tile in the shower angles towards the rest of the bathroom. Would absolutely flood the whole bathroom. Our first night I couldn’t figure out why every time I walked on the floor my footsteps would leave wet marks. But after I showered I realized the floor is soaked under the flooring. So to avoid damage we didn’t use the shower. The fitness facility was very dirty and the machines were old and rusty. One of the ellipticals was so rusted it won’t move. It was so hot in there you couldn’t stay long. Each day I went in there to use what I could, the same garbage and cups never moved so you can tell it’s a forgotten part of the Hotel.

Parking

Due to the amount of people. She run out of sausage on Sunday morning.

Hotel was under maintenance, breakfast was not good. Our electrical switches were mixed up in room and fridge was not working.
