I would not recommend this hotel. Debbie at the front desk was super rude. The air conditioner didn’t work at arrival and it was repaired with painters tape with wires hanging out at the front, no hair dryer in the bathroom and when we called the front desk everyone just told us they are too full to do anything about getting anything “extra”. We had 2 towels in the room for a family of four and when we asked for more we were told the entire hotel had no towels. Some of our friends tried to get breakfast at 8:30 on Saturday and they were told they didn’t have anymore food. It seems that the management for this location and planning for people is not something they can do at this location.
Location
Odd layout
Friendly staff
How long the shower took to heat up.
Location is great close to highway major restaurant chains and Meijers
Hotel Fire alarm system went off, requiring us to evacuate our room at 6am, rooms not well maintained, clean but dated and no views.
I liked the new look and updates ..
Breakfast,
Online says 67 dollars and get there after I called and made sure it was that price he said yes but I didn't get that price which it was honestly aggravating..
It's false advertising too ..
Breakfast and hostess on duty great and very helpful
Nice new updated rooms
We stayed 5 nights with no trash pick up or towels changed.
Nice staff, room was clean
Food wasn’t very hot and the lady that was serving the food was watching every step we took. Very uncomfortable.
Being greeted by someone at the front desk in a t-shirt was a red flag. Rooms are so outdated compared to other locations. Will book at downtown locations next time.
My son and I stayed at this Holiday Inn Express over the weekend, and unfortunately the experience was very unwelcoming. The moment we stepped into the lobby, the front desk clerk immediately yelled at us for being a part of a hockey team, and warned there would be no running or playing hockey in the hallways. We hadn’t even set our bags down before being scolded.
I understand that sports teams can sometimes be rowdy, and I don’t mind signing a rules agreement, I’ve done so at other hotels, but the way this was handled felt unnecessarily harsh. A simple explanation of the rules would have been fine; instead, the tone set from the start was negative.
Throughout our stay, most of the staff we encountered (aside from one employee checking rooms for towels) came across as crabby. We weren’t even at the hotel for most of Saturday, yet when we returned late that evening, the atmosphere was still unfriendly. On checkout day, our room keys were deactivated at 10 a.m., even though checkout wasn’t until 11 a.m.
Overall, this hotel does not seem prepared to host hockey teams or groups. The welcome and service were disappointing, and I would caution teams or families considering this location.
This is a solid Holiday Inn Express for a stop over. Easy off the highway & located close to lots of restaurants & shopping. The room was like a mini-suite with a balcony. It’s showing some wear & tear so needs a few touch ups & the balcony could be cleaner. But it’s a safe location & we slept well. Thanks Jen for changing our room to the other side of the hall! Thanks Sam, maintenance man who figured out how to dislodge & finally open our very stuck balcony door. He then kindly found us chairs for the balcony to enjoy the unusually warm evening. We will remember this hotel for our next time passing through.
