A great night away without our kids in a comfortable spot downtown!
Pros:

We were able to walk to a dinner spot easily right by the capitol building.

Cons:

The air conditioner was really loud (we thought a truck was parked outside our window until we looked and realized it was coming from inside our room). The breakfast was yummy but the breakfast restaurant area was really hot.

Typical for this area
Pros:

I have stayed here on business numerous times. I would change it if the company would let me. Service is very inconsistent. Over charge for most things. Most of the employees are high or could care less. Rooms stink and management could care less and don't understand what you are trying to say to them. Way over priced for what you get.

Excellent staff! But the price is a bit high.
Pros:

The staff were excellent. Whoever is training up these folks is doing a good job. They make a point of being super helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was great and it is included in the room fee, and is an actual restaurant with servers.

Cons:

I think you are basically paying for location when you stay here. Harrisburg is not a prime tourist spot, and it is a small town, and I think the cost of the hotel is too high. Plus, you do need to tip the servers at the breakfast restaurant, and the valet, etc. It adds up to too high a cost for one night for that location. And the hotel has not been recently renovated. It is nice enough, but not nice enough for the cost I paid in this off season. Would I stay there again? If the price was lower, absolutely. But not at the same rate.

Twilight Zone Employees and a Complimentary Slip and Slide
Pros:

Got caught in a bad storm on a long drive home with my boyfriend. Tried to make the best of a bad situation.
I made the reservation and included the parking fee. We didn’t need any more headaches. We parked on the street (free parking 5pm-8am or something of the sort). I went to check in. It was the standard process (albeit with far less warmth than I’m used to) until the front desk guy asks where we parked. I said the street. He said, “I will never understand why you people park on the street when it is included in your reservation.” “Oh, yeah, I just didn’t know where to pull in or if we needed to check in first.” “But there’s a spot to pull in and you paid for it.” It’s three days later and I’m still wondering why he cared that much. It was free! Not a super huge fan of being treated like a silly child when I’m just trying to exchange my money for a place to sleep. Deep breaths. It’s whatever. Pitstop in the bathroom, walk outside, found the valet area! We eventually pulled the car up to said area. Valet guy comes out. Standard spiel about cost and what not. He says he saw me look at him earlier and I could have just come and talked to him. I explain I was trying to find my boyfriend post bathroom break and didn’t have my glasses on. He’s being weirdly defensive about it? Whatever. We must march forth. I tell him we already have the valet parking. He questions what I mean. I tell him what the front desk guy said. He’s like “oh well the way you said it made it seem like you already had a ticket when you obviously don’t. Front desk guy is new.” This goes on for like 5 minutes. Cool. Please just let me give you my car. The bellhop cart was wobbly. Whatever. I shall maintain my positive attitude and be grateful we made it there safely.
My breaking point came when I finally got to shower. The shower door slides in such a way that I have to reach through the water to adjust the temp/turn it on AND there’s water all over the floor. No breakfast, but a complimentary slip and slide. Sick. Fine. Sure. It’s when I look up and see a vent COATED in dust and HAIR on the shampoo bottle that I decided that a full crash out was valid.
This is that crash out. I am service industry. I try my best to not complain and to be a Good Customer. I get it. But I feel like I paid $175 for Waffle House customer service. I couldn’t care less if you smile at me and tell me to have a great day, but being straight up combative and condescending is a whole different ballpark.
The lady that checked me out in the morning was really nice, though.
