Near Water and Stores
Pros:

As road trippers making few reservations I, as the navigator, look for hotels within walking distance to decent food and a "town". The Wyvern satisfied both. A boutique hotel it is a refreshing change from the franchises. Our room was clean and comfortable. The location with a rooftop bar and the in house restaurant with tasty breakfast and good coffee was a plus.

April Birthday trip
Pros:

The staff at the front desk was friendly and very helpful, even when I was checking in at midnight. The room was clean and comfortable. I did not try the food but the drinks and ambiance were great at the rooftop bar.

Pros:

Easy parking, big bathroom

Cons:

Sewage stench in ground floor corridor heading to car park, and also outside our room on the 5th floor.
Rooftop bar wasn't open, but it should have been according to the posters in the hotel.
Checkout process/time not clear, checkin information said 10am, then I got an email to say tell us when you want to check out, and 11am was agreed option. 1pm would have cost $25, and that was the only clear bit.
Lighting in the room was insufficient, especially as it was cloudy outside so no sunshine to help brighten the room

worst experience in Punta Gorda
Pros:

Horrible - roof top bar was noisy until after 1AM, 2 room had cracked mirror, no one was manning font desk when I arrived, left items of clothing in closet and housekeeping said they "disappeared". $1000 worth - sweater, jacket, wife's dress, polo. Management refused any help - even corporate. will never stay there again!!!

Great Stay!
Pros:

We stayed at the Wyvern on a Tuesday night in February. We were seeing a show at the Military Museum. It was a nice walk there and we Ubered back.
The hotel was nice. It was clean and well maintained.We booked a city view room. It was large and well maintained loved the large bathroom with a separate tub and shower. It had a comfortable bed and was clean.
The only disappointment was being on 2nd floor. I would get a room with a higher view or water view. No problem with noise. The restaurant by the hotel is closed permanently.
The staff was friendly. We enjoyed the rooftop bar for a cocktail. Beautiful views and more nice staff. The location was good too. We will return to the Wyvern when visiting Punta Gorda again.

The hotel is beautiful, modern, easy to find and the room very clean.
Pros:

We didn't experience the rooftop restaurant due to the weather; it was too cold to stay. But we went to see the beautiful view. the staff was very friendly and one of them took a picture of us. The lobby staff was very attentive and professional.

Cons:

The pillows were soft but too high. i have a cervical condition that requires a flatter pillow, but it was my fault for not bringing my own pillow and an extra blanket.
i was surprised that the indoor restaurant was only for breakfast. Dinner would've been very special since the rooftop restaurant was so cold to stay.
