We styed here one night on our way out of Rwanda. I did prefer the Marriott but it is more expensive. Clean, nice bar area, beautiful pool area. Dinner was nothing special. Private cars at the ready for transportation to the airport.

I and my clients are great time with Serena Kigali and I can't waiting to coming back soon.Lovely people and staff.

Everything was fantastic! Room was nicely appointed with tea and coffee. Great shower and bathtub. Fabulous breakfast and beautiful pool area.

I proposed to my fiancee at Serena Kigali on January 4th, 2026. My friend Enock, kitchen Manager, helped schedule the event and took very good care of the event flawlessly at an affordable price for a 5-Star hotel. I would like to thank Enock in particular and John who was our waiter for that day. Serena Kigali is a very beautiful hotel and I plan to do more events there in the future, and I recommend to everyone to consider Serena Kigali if they are planning any event and also, New Year's eve party ambiance was excellent with lots of people enjoying themselves to the fullest. I noticed many important people were there, it was a great networking place too.

Everything was excellent. I am happy to visit again and again.

Outstanding hotel with an elegant vibe. Tastefully furnished and relaxing feel. Since the hotel was included as part of our safari package, having a driver transport from the airport to the hotel was convenient. The rooms were comfortable, clean and well furnished. I loved the optional buffet restaurant which offered a varied menu and different theme nights. My stay was short so I didn't indulge in the pool, spa or gym but they looked very inviting. All in all, it was an excellent experience. Since my stay was part of a package, it may not fit into everyone's budget, but worth the indulge.

We previously gave a one-star review to Serena Hotel Kigali after a bad experience we encountered at this hotel for our first visit(air con and door lock issues) but would like to change it to a five star review because of the professional way the staff addressed and handled this issue. Serena Hotel Kigali indeed proved to be a 5 star hotel and Brian made the whole process smooth. Kuddos to him! We definitely recommend Serena Hotel Kigali as we really enjoyed our second stay there.

The Serena Kigali Hotel — and Kigali itself — was a wonderful surprise. The service was impeccable, the food outstanding, and the hotel exceptionally well-managed and beautifully maintained. The ambience is elegant, and the staff carry themselves with a quiet, dignified professionalism.

It is so relaxing in a tropical garden environment.

It is a distinctly five-star hotel. I only wish international hotel chains would send their staff here for a few weeks of training — they would learn what true hospitality and proper hotel management look like.

This is my first time staying at the Serena Hotel in Kigali. I usually stay at the same hotel, which I have been going to since 2018. My Rwandan business partner recommended this hotel to me. I was pleasantly surprised and delighted to spend my business trip here. The service is excellent, the hotel is spotlessly clean, and the staff are highly professional. They knew how to do their job well, so I didn't have to ask for anything. This is very important when we're on a business trip, as we need to focus on our work objectives while feeling relaxed and comfortable. The Serena Hotel is really the place to stay.

By far the worst hotel I have ever been, I had a super bad experience in November 2025 with my wife...Ac stopped working, the maintenance team came to fix and it worked for 30 mins, then again the AC went out again....
Then my wife went to the bathroom....she got stuck inside I had to rush to the reception to get a maintenance guy to force the door open during the night.

Location was exquisite. Walking around was excellent. Superb room. Mostly courteous, a few with stone face (security) and potentially unhappy faces in some stations (concierge and bellboys). Cleanliness is top notch, the bathrooms show the ageing facility and could do with bidets, the room furniture is excellent. TV channels are limited, could improve with International News & Business channels. But the internet is great so one can find what they want on YouTube. The food was great! The fruit basket in the room even better.

We stayed here en route to Volcanoes National Park. We had a lovely breakfast and a comfortable couple of hours of much -needed sleep. Shame we didn't have time for a swim in the gorgeous pool.

Booked in this hotel as a conference recommendation and ended up being, I think, in the best place in town. The pool setup is perfect (as seen in pictures for once), the spa service excellent and the personnel very welcoming. Shout out to James for his great service at breakfast but the same goes to all staff, couldn't catch all names :) The area is very clean and safe and walking distance to best spots in town. The taxi service they offer is quite convenient too.

Stayed in Kigali for two nights at this property. Everything was clean, modern, and beautiful. Utilized the pool and enjoyed the fabulous breakfast buffet each morning. I would definitely stay again.

Room was amazing. Robes, slippers, rain shower, oversized bath towels. Spa available. Dining room for breakfast and dinner was fabulous. Had the best steak I’ve had in a long time.

While attending a workshop at Serena hotel, we were booked at Kivu room near the swimming pool. The room had mosquitoes that kept buzzing around for most the day! This was very inconveniencing throughout the workshop
