Hotel Du Vin & Bistro Tunbridge Wells

Staff were so helpful, they called me directly a few days before our arrival to see if we had any specific requirements, so we booked our parking. The breakfast was outstanding due to the variety of choice and the excellent breakfast was freshly cooked to our specific order. The room was lovely and clean and the bed was super comfy. I couldn’t fault the hotel.

Overall we had a wonderful stay at the hotel, from the warm welcome by Monica on reception when we arrived, until we left the next morning.
We upgraded to a suite which was very spacious, with a super comfortable bed and all the amenities you would want, including beautiful L’Occitane toiletries. .

Just a couple of strange design features to the room though and no reflection on the hotel staff, this is a head office issue.

Firstly, instead of having a spacious bathroom with dual basins as you might expect with a suite, the designers decided to put the bath in the bedroom in an alcove between the shower and toilet.
The loo door was frosted glass which meant that the outside lights shone into the room all night. There was no radiator in the loo either so, with a big frosted window, it was rather cold.
There was a hairdryer in the wardrobe but no mirror with a plug near it to use whilst drying your hair. A small mirror on the desk would have sufficed.
Finally, the lighting in the room consisted of two bedside lights which were lovely but the sitting room only had bright overhead lights. There was a lamp in the corner but this only switched on and off with the overhead lights! Not very cosy or ambient whilst using the sitting room.

We had a lovely time though and hope that our comments will be passed on to the design team.

So comfy we have stayed before and will again

My wife and I went here for afternoon tea on Sunday 22 February. We were greeted and seated by our waiter for the afternoon, Sonny. He explained in detail what was on offer and asked whether we would like any substitutions (we did). We opted for a glass of champagne each which was excellent (I believe it was Chateau Lombard). The food was of excellent quality, served at the correct temperature (on occasion sandwiches are served straight from the fridge) and plentiful. The scones and desserts were also excellent. All in all a very pleasant way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon. We will probably return for the Sunday lunch which looked mouth watering and is surprisingly reasonable. Shout out to Lili, who kindly arranged our visit and Sonny who was the perfect waiter - attentive without being intrusive.

My wife and I had our wedding at Hotel du Vin in Royal Tunbridge Wells on 21/02/2026.
I would love to give Sophia and her team six stars because everything was perfect. Beautiful setting, lovely ambience, comfortable and clean rooms, tasty food and generous portions. All of our friends were delighted and commented how wonderful everything was.
Sophia was “on the ball” throughout the months of preparation and on the day and nothing was too much trouble for her or her team.
Special thanks go to Sam on reception for helping me carry a lot of our stuff down from the bridal suite.
Highly recommend this venue for your wedding. You’ll have a magical day.

I held my wedding at the hotel last weekend and I can not praise the hotel enough. From my initial enquiry and the many emails over the last year, Sophia and her team have been nothing but patient and kind and very helpful with all my questions and arrangements. The actual day itself was amazing. The staff were all so helpful, friendly and caring. Nothing felt like it was too much trouble. The food was very tasty and I did not have one guest say otherwise. The canapes were delicious, my only complaint is that I did not give myself time to eat them! The portion sizes for the wedding breakfast were plentiful (and amazingly were hot which so many catered events are not!!) The Lombard room where we held all the days events was flipped 3 times and each time it was done in great time and looked fantastic. The suite I had for the night before and night of the wedding was perfect and accommodated myself and my bridal party the morning of the wedding. Other than the Sun coming out, that the hotel could not control, I could not fault anything. Thank you very much to you all for making my day perfect.

The location was excellent. 15 min walk to The Pantiles, 5 min walk to the main shopping centre. The building has plenty of character. The standard room was spacious with a large bathroom. All the staff were excellent. We did not use the restaurant or have breakfast so cannot comment on these aspects. There is a small car park where we were able to park easily, but you may need to pay to reserve a space at busy times. There is a public multi-storey car park nearby.

Held our Wedding here - the whole day from start to finish was fantastic!! The team of staff couldn't do enough for us and Sophia was amazing at helping us organise the event and ensuring it all ran smoothly on the day. The food was amazing - so many lovely compliments from our guests.
The venue both inside and the grounds is beautiful - perfect location for a wedding!!

We have just returned from our daughter's wedding and reception at the Hotel du Vn. Nothing seemed to bother anyone; we only had to ask, and lo and behold, it was done, no fuss, no hassle. Turning the Lombard Room over twice was also an achievement. We heard nothing but praise from the guests. All in all, top marks to Sophia and her fantastic staff. What stood out for me was the breakfast, freshly prepared when you order instead of buffet style. Food was lovely, fresh and hot. What a pleasant stay, loved it! Staff were friendly and warm, the hotel felt like I was back in my childhood in my grandmas house, without the huge front desk, classic design, will definitely be coming back. Keep up the excellent work. I ABSOLUTELY loved every second of it. Thank you.
