Amazing hotel, location and staff.
The location and building are great however the conditions of the building inside and out have clearly not been maintained and invested in for a long time. I know this hotel from when I lived in Tunbridge Wells and I was appalled by the change in its appearance and interior.
I returned here to attend a family occasion and I was expecting the standard of I knew Hotel Du vin delivered.
My room was allegedly an upgrade but it was tired and shabby in decor. Certainly not reflected in the cost of the room and I took a video of the condition of the furniture in the room. I would really like the management to read this review and contact me to discuss this. It’s extremely unreasonable to expect to charge London prices and deliver shabby rooms.
Great
Not serving until 8am we had hoped they opened at 7am
Attended for the first time with my husband and daughter for her birthday. Sonny was our waiter and his expertise and service were exemplary. Our daughter is vegan and I am coeliac and histamine intolerant and yet nothing was too much trouble. A really special lunch.
We celebrated a family milestone birthday in one of the private dining rooms and we were very well looked after by Seb and Serhii - the room was beautiful, the meal and drinks were delicious and the service was impeccable. Everyone had a fantastic time - thank you!
Lovely hotel in a historic building, with lots of character, and a quirky, interesting design.
Located next to a construction site, with noise and construction dust affecting the experience.
Nice semi-style buffet breakfast, coffee was really good. Food was so-so but okay as it's a local hotel. Great location; I'm probably the best hotel to stay in for that category. Sadly, we found the two young guys working in the bar need to learn how to smile 😊. Apart from that, everything was very good. However, tables were very dusty, so they could be cleaned more.
Sadly, there is major construction going on next to us, and not following rules and regulations, so there is a lot of dust. We were having breakfast outside but had to move inside after a large cloud of dust blew over from the construction, which was quite disappointing, but it’s not the hotel’s fault.
Lovely hotel. Very nice people!
Monica was so sweet and helpful. We went to a wedding and before we left she took excellent photos of us in our fancy clothes! We really appreciate her!
We had our wedding ceremony, reception and evening party at the Hotel du Vin, Tunbridge Wells a couple of weeks ago. The day was so beautifully run by Sophia and her team, Serhii, Riley, Rebecca, Alex, Jimmy and Eryn. From the moment our guests arrived to the time we all left, they couldn't have made our day more perfect if they'd tried. The chef even made a fabulous wedding cake out of two Cook cakes, so unexpected and such a lovely touch. The team took care of every detail so we could just enjoy our day with our family and friends. The food received lots of great comments too, simply brilliant, thank you.
Nice property
Breakfast very mean. No bowls bigger than an ashtray. Fruit came in very small jars, could only use a teaspoon. As a result multiple trips back to the buffet needed. Everything was designed to reduce portion size. Coffee poor. Pastries good, cereals cheap. Overall breakfast was a disappointment.
location, heritage estate, excellent front desk staff
pillows were awfully soft, bed could be better
Sehr gute Lage, sehr gutes Frühstück, sehr freundliches Personal
The location was excellent, the receptionists were excellent.
The food in the restaurant was appalling, I have no words to describe the meal. I chose the plaice in batter and chips . Old horrid and truly inedible. Don’t eat at this place. I did not complain at the time, I was very tired and it was just too much for me on that day, and I’m well aware even if I had it would not have made a difference. The chef and the waiting staff were not up to par.
Well organised and very welcoming
