Note générale en dessous de la moyenne ( 8,5/20). Service des chambres très faible. Douche excellente.
I enjoyed the location. The place Was filthy.the staff Was there for nothing.
Bon accueil,
Location was awesome... Front desk very helpful...
While the building had some interesting artistic features, I would say they photograph better than they present in real life. The host did not have any record of our reservation and made no apology about the mixup, but found us a room anyway. We booked a room with a double bed, and the listing indicated free Wifi and paid parking available. Unfortunately there was no parking, no Wifi, and we had a room with two small twin beds. We arrived back to the hotel after dinner and a walk along the Seine to find the main doors all locked, and just by luck the gentleman who checked us in was walking by the door. He let us in and said "did nobody give you the code?" He is the only one we had interacted with and there was certainly no mention of a code, and no documentation in our room at all, not even to list hotel features or nearby amenities. I understand there was a very recent change in ownership which may explain some of the inaccuracy and confusion with our check-in and other normal hospitality procedures, but it was very disappointing overall. I will say that it was in a great location, and with a few small improvements to the process and room features, it could be a much better value for money. I wish them the best in their new business venture, but for now I fear the patrons will suffer.
Manque parking car centre ville !
Sinon parking Opéra 15euros la nuit
Chambre vétuste et trop petite.
Environnement trop bruillant.
Heureusement que le gérant est sympa !
No parking on site so you have to find a spot on the street, which, depending on the time of the day may take a while. Also there is not a spot to park in front of the hotel to check in so you need to find your parking spot and then walk your luggage over to the hotel to checkin. If you don't speak French, be prepared for a language barrier. You can pay for their breakfast offering (it was between 8-10 Euros), which is essentially croissants and baguettes and coffee or hot chocolate. The room itself was simple and just did not have a clean appearance. It seemed like the "street art" was just a cover for being hipster chic but it was really just grungy. We were in France for two weeks, we stayed here one night and that was enough. It is around the corner from Notre Dame de Rouen, a beautiful gothic church built during the middle ages, so that was a silver lining. This is a classic example of getting what you pay for as it was the cheapest stay we had on our trip.
Like the other hotels in Rouen, they give you the worst room if you book through a platform like Booking or Orbitz. Also be aware there's no wifi on the upper floors nor elevator.
The staff was very, very friendly and accomodating. Be aware this is a funky hotel that isn't run by a chain, so it's a bit outside of what some people might consider "standard hotel ammenities" like laundry, hairdryers and room service. It's more like a hip, expensive boarding house.
First, we will be clear, we knew the price we were paying for and the category of the hote we booked and we were not asking for the services of a 3* or 4*.
We arrived and the staff were not professionals at all, they guy which attend us didn't know if we had to pay or not and informed us that we could leave the car in the street until 10,00am without paying (the reality is that it was until 09,00am and the fine will be paid by us, not by him). Neither could tell us any info about the city... I am not asking for a guide just for a few tips...
Second, the room smelt to tobacco, the window was opened and the pillow linen were dirty. Its true that we decided to stay, we were tired and we did not want to have any trouble seeing the professionalism of the staff.
Third we could not regulate the temperature of the heating as there was no faucet and during the night it was really hot in the room.
Four, there were noises everywhere, you could listen the tv from the rooms of the same floor, the people conversarions at 1 o'clock in the morning and every little vibration. Really, it was not confortable know you do not have any privacy at all.
Five, there was not wifi in the rooms. The guy told us that they were chanfing the net's company and there was just wifi in the ground floor.
For the price (budget - 65€) i think you have other options in the city. The only good thing is its location within the city centre. For the rest... a really bad choice in our trip around Normandy.
