Pros:

The beef cheek gnocchi was exceptional. I loved my room, it had such a great view. What a comfy bed. It was too good. The restaurants were lovely and I loved to be able to walk along the lake. Thank you for a wonderful time!

this was the most expensive room we stayed in on our south Island visit and it was the smallest.
Pros:

Checking in was easy, although we were called back to pay again as the payment transaction was not completed properly

Cons:

We booked a premium room with lake views. there were no lounge chairs in the room so we had to bring a resin chair in from outside to sit on. the view of the lake was a glance out of the corner of the eye and you couldn't fit on the balcony.

Check there isn’t a wedding outside your room every day of your stay
Pros:

The mattress and pillows were the comfiest I have slept on, the 1 bed premium suite was clearly very new, and so decor was lovely. Location and view was brilliant.

Cons:

Unfortunately you don’t get the tranquility and peace as advertised. When we arrived there was a wedding going on, right outside our room. So we couldn’t use our outside area or even open our curtains as we got stared at by wedding guests. The wedding also had music and mics so it was loud in our room. We figured it was just a few hours so ok, although because of the wedding we also couldn’t get a table at the restaurant. But then exactly the same the next day, but slightly worse as we ended up with wedding guests sitting on our Patio with their kids. Communication from staff was terrible - they didn’t even have the courtesy to let us know or ask if it would be a problem. Why would you put non wedding guests in a room with a wedding right outside? It really ruined our stay here. The complex itself is also not very private - lots of people wander up from the public footpath just having a nose round. When we left staff didn’t even ask how our stay was - so I just didn’t bother complaining at that point. A real shame though as the place should in theory be amazing.
