Nice hotel
Pros:

You normally know where you stand with a Holiday Inn Express but this hotel was slightly different.

The layout of the hotel is interesting as there is a medium sized car park at the front and then a larger car park along the side. Make sure you go down the correct side though as the other side, the one with the parallel parking, is a dead end and you’ll have to reverse all the way back up.

The other oddity I found was that the main door of the hotel was of the push/pull variety (i.e. not automatic). I know this may sound strange to the uninitiated but gripping a door handle that has been gripped by hundreds of, if not thousands, of other people is unhygienic. I rate the germ factor of those doors right up there with coins and petrol pumps.

Apart from the matters above there are a lot of great things about this hotel. The parking is free, the staff are lovely and the hotel is dog friendly to name just three. Additionally the room was spotlessly clean and we were presented with a doggy welcome pack upon arrival.

Don’t let the doors put you off this is a great hotel.

Excellent New Year’s Eve stay
Pros:

Stayed at the hotel for local wedding on New Year’s Eve.
The hotel is set in a rural location but in close proximity to Peterborough city centre, you would need a car if staying here or relying on taxis.

We checked in and was given room
114 upstairs, there is no lift in the hotel so that is worth noting if you have mobility issues.

The room was a decent size, very clean and had everything you could need, tv had an array of channels.

Again, bathroom clean and the shower was great.

The breakfast was outstanding for what we paid, it’s much better than premier inn.

The staff were very friendly in the hotel. We would definitely return if we are in the area again.

Great convenient stay
Pros:

We stayed here as a family to attend a roller hockey training session. The hotel surpassed any expectations, was very clean, good facilities and super friendly and helpful staff. We needed additional towels and they werw brought to the room within 5 minutes. Great breakfast and clear allergy information. Cannot fault it at all.

Great value overnight stay .
Pros:

Couldn't fault this hotel for a great value overnight stay . Checked in by Liam ,who was excellent, very polite and friendly. Given a good sized room on the ground floor , everything very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price of the room , which was a buffet of hot and cold food , very impressed. Hotel was in a very quiet area, just a couple of minutes from the A 1 , didn't hear any internal noise from the hotel at night, which is a big bonus ! Will definitely use this hotel again.

Pros:

Stayed for work, not great... room had very little lighting, the photos of the rooms must have had the brightness on the camera turned to the max as it is nothing like that in reality. No plug socket near the bed to charge your phone
The staff were great though and room was cleaned well

Poor experience - won't be returning
Pros:

The carpets were dirty and desperately need to be replaced or deep cleaned. Sofa in room 207 had all stains on the edges and face.

Room 123 - Shower room was dangerous, the floor was slippery and had no grip on the tiles when wet.

One of the receptionist, with long blonde hair was very rude and everything was too much effort for her to do anything! Didn't even offer the meal deal with the pizza and automatically put it through as separate items, subsequently paying more, even though we asked for the meal deals. When questioned, she rolled her eyes back and went to storm off! Not very customer friendly or polite.

Evening dinner, we had 2 pizzas and they were under cooked and disgusting especially for the price of them.

Breakfast was awful, sausages were meant to be Cumberlands, but tasted like cheap pork ones and were badly cooked. Beans had been kept warm for too long and scambled eggs were sloppy.

Barely any orange juice and when asked, they said they'll get to it when they decide!

Would we come back?? Erm..... Definitely not, be a place to avoid

Could be better
Pros:

My room was above a staff rest area where staff would smoke, making the room stink. Not great! Also, didn't appreciate the knock early on check out day despite check out not being for another 2 hours.

Would come again
Pros:

As a small family visiting family in the area, we are really glad to have picked this hotel. They had no problems with us checking in at 7:30pm and had the room ready for us. The person who checked us in was super friendly too. The room was very clean and we had no concerns. We all enjoyed our breakfasts.
