Hôtel Mercure Lyon Centre Château Perrache is a charming hotel situated in a prime location near the heart of Lyon, making it an excellent choice for visitors. As it was my first visit to Lyon, I found Château Perrache perfectly situated for exploring the city’s main attractions and transportation hubs. The room I stayed in was spacious, comfortably furnished with modern decor, and had a charming ambiance that made me feel at home. It was spotlessly clean, with thoughtful touches such as a re-filled water bottle each day and complimentary drinks in the minibar.

However, I must mention a disappointing aspect: both hotel entrances appeared unwelcoming and quite plain. I understand this is due to ongoing construction work, which initially caught me off guard upon arrival.

On a positive note, the hotel staff truly stood out. Their service was exceptional, I would confidently rate them a 10 out of 10. Every staff member I encountered was genuine, friendly, and professional without being overly familiar. Special praise goes to the restaurant and bar staff, as well as the two ladies and a young gentleman at the reception desk. Although I regret not remembering their names, their attentive service made a lasting impression.

Overall, I believe Mercure could elevate its guest experience by adopting the excellent customer service standards demonstrated at Château Perrache across all areas of the hotel.

Pros:

The location is good. Next to the train station . Easy walk to attractions and restaurants.

Cons:

Very run down desperately in need of some TLC. The walk into town is a little unsettling. You walk though a type of tunnel that is a homeless encampment with several tents and homeless people hanging around.

Pros:

Staying here at the moment, in a privilege Room, with double sofa bed.
The room is very spacious, beds very comfortable, and all round extremely satisfied!
All of the staff are so friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast is absolutely fantastic!!
