Fabulous as always
Pros:

Just got home from staying at the everglades hotel in Widnes. Stay here many times and the reasons are . On entering the hotel you are immediately greeted and made to feel very comfortable, on this occasion we were assisted and checked in by a lovely lady (ang ) she was extremely professional and also very kind and went that extra mile to make our stay special . It was my final birthday celebrations and she could not do enough and with me being coeliac I was instantly impressed with the choices offered to me on the menu . I try to go here every month and IV introduced 3 more of my friends to this hotel as I'll most definitely be back again and I want them to enjoy the same experience . Id like to take this opportunity to personally extend my gratitude to ang who IV met on many occasions and she is genuinely lovely and very kind . Also thanks to Jim in the restaurant. As always a true gent, very kind and very professional. Thanks again for making my birthday stay very special and even singing happy birthday to me whilst bringing a cake to our table ang and Jim . Very overwhelming. Lovely people, lovely place see you soon x

Hotel and rooms tired.
Pros:

Hotel on the outside looked very inviting. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel appeared to be clean and maintained.
We were there for 2 nights and although they had 2 parties - were not disturbed by them.
We booked for an evening meal on our first night and to be honest- the food wasn't the best. We had starters of Welsh Rarebit on crumpets. The Rarebit was more like a sauce on top of a mass produced crumpet.
My main course was steak and ale pie with chips and vegetables. The pie was obviously a mass produced one and it was in gràvy as opposed to having a separate jug to pour over. Our friend had a chicken dish with mash. She said that the mash was like microwaved Mash and the chicken appeared to have a tomato based sauce poured over.
When we had desserts, I had the Rhubarb and custard tart. The tart was mass produced and rhubarb was cold and tinned as was the custard which was tipped over it.
There did not appear to have been any input from a chef. The 2nd evening, we ate at a Harvester restaurant and the food was better.
Breakfast on the first morning was via a menu and that was nice. However, on the 2nd morning as the hotel was busy, it was a buffet style and some of the foods was dried out.
Our bedroom also was tired in appearance, with only an electric wall heater under a window in the bedroom. That also had signs of rust showing. There was no heating in the bathroom.
Our mattress could at best be described as once being a main mattress in a house and then relegated to the spare room when a new one was purchased. It was not comfortable and you could feel the sprung pockets.
Parking was ample and free.
The front of house staff, housekeepers and waiting staff were fantastic, with nothing being too much trouble.
Would we stay there again? No, not unless improvements were made.

Celebration of Life/Wake - Biscayne Room
Pros:

Called in at short notice looking for a venue for a wake, and were greeted by Angela who set us at ease immediately. She showed us the options of the Biscayne Room or the hotel restaurant. We were unsure of actual numbers and estimated between 30-50 people, so opted for the Biscayne. Angela was very helpful and tailor made a buffet package and explained how they would set the room out and what facilities were available - eg easel, projector, music.

On the day we were looked after by Clare and the team, who kept checking in to make sure everything, including when we were ready for the food to be served and even asked us to check it over before we announced it to the room. We had more people come back than we anticipated and the team were able to accommodate some extra items at last minute for a minimal extra charge, which was very helpful. We were very happy with the whole afternoon, the quality of the food and the service from the staff at what was a very difficult time. We feel we found the perfect venue for our requirements.

All inclusive deal
Pros:

We went to celebrate our friends birthday. We had a few paid for drinks in the bar before checking in and a few all inclusive drinks before dinner booked for 7pm.

The room was fine and I had emailed ahead for a room near reception/bar as husband has mobility issues.

Unfortunately the food wasn’t that good. It was worse than school dinners back in the day……..Four of us had a different chicken dish and the chicken in all cases was very very over cooked and tough and was left.
We pointed this out to the waitress and she just said I’ll tell the chef! The rhubarb and custard tart tasted like it was a shop bought pastry case, tinned custard and almost raw rhubarb, not nice at all.

The staff, however, were all nice especially the night bar man.

Would we go again? Probably not but on the upside , we did get value for money with our included drinks.

Fantastic Service at Everglades Park Hotel – Staff Went Above and Beyond!
Pros:

We had such a great experience at the Everglades Hotel in Widnes for a gathering after my late fatgers funeral. The service from start to finish was absolutely first class and made the whole occasion feel really special.
A huge shout out to Mike and Callum, who genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. They were attentive, friendly and always one step ahead, making sure everything ran smoothly without us having to worry about a thing. Laura, the Events Manager, was also fantastic – organised, approachable and completely on the ball. It’s clear she takes real pride in making sure every detail is just right.
Thank you all for your professionalism, warmth and hard work. We truly appreciate everything you did for us

Don't bother
Pros:

Poor from arrival to leaving, no explanation 0f times for meals or all incusive just an envelope with our bands in, I paid extra for added all inclusive don't bother as other people didn't and still were given the same drinks, my wife was totally embarrassed by a male member off staff for not bringing her glass to the bar, did you bot read your letter, go get your glass, spoken too like children, I complained and he apologised to me but made bo effort to apologise to my wife. Also all rooms were freezing even the function rooms, portable heaters were in use, bedroom freezing electric heaters in no way were enough. On a positive the food was good and hot. It has the possibility of being a lovely hotel but some staff training is badly needed. I will stick to the old mill as its a totally different experience from entry to leaving. Also my wife left her glasses I called left my number, no call back to date. To sum up very poorly managed and staff training and heating a must

Party nights
Pros:

We have stayed twice on an all inclusive party night package. It's good value for money. The staff are friendly and the service good. Lots of car parking space. The food was nice and we enjoyed our breakfast. Rooms are clean and of a decent standard. We would return for special party nights or events.

Although a little dated, it still represents great value for money.
Pros:

We were having a terrible experience in a local AirbNb, so booked this online same date to get a break from it. At £70 for a Saturday night I didnt have the highest expectations, but upon arrival I felt it was good value for money and of a higher standard than I was expecting.

Negatives were the carpets a bit worn, TV a bit small and out of date and the lighting system in room was weird ( they were either all on or all off).

Positives were, reception was pleasant, place was clean, good sized comfortable beds and spacious rooms, ample free parking, convenient location to join the motorways.

We didn't eat breakfast as at £14 it felt a bit overpriced.

We will definitely use this location again when traveling to football matches.

YET AGAIN OUTSTANDING
Pros:

What a great start to 2026 our first stay away at the Everglades Hotel this year and it will not be our last, we did enjoy 4 or 5 breaks in 2025 and it just keeps getting better this is all thanks to Angie and her fantastic team, we had room 101 which is spot on for my wife Marie who is on crutches, room was spotless as was every other aspect of the Hotel. We were on the all inclusive package and it is very good value for your money, the drinks package is great as I always go ultra for an extra £13.00P a night well worth it. The food on both Saturday & Sunday was outstanding, thanks to the Chefs & of course you Angie for always showing your warmth & caring attitude to your guests as do your entire team.
See you in April. THANKS Ken & Marie.

A nice stay
Pros:

Stayed here the night before creamfields and was really happy. The locality was great as was the price. We did have to put a deposit down because we were going to the festival the next day and not staying again which I found a bit odd but maybe they’ve had bad experiences from this in the past. There was a wedding on at the same time but no noise or anything, would staycation.

Pros:

We had a great night at their New Year’s Eve celebration as a group of 6. Duty manager Angela and her team were fantastic. The food was lovely and service very friendly. Phenomenal value for money Great service
Pros:

Booked one night on the spur of the moment and I have to say what a great time we had. Before you read the other reviews please bear in mind we paid £109 for a room... Comfy bed.... Great food.... Free bar for 6 hours friendly staff. That's £109 people... It's not the Ritz but a great place for a break.

Not what it used to be
Pros:

We have stayed here in the past and it was excellent. All inclusive with a 2 course meal 5 hours of drinks bed and breakfast.

This time we stayed before we went to get our drinks we sat on the bed and it was very uncomfortable, didn't complain because we figured it was 1 night and we would be slightly tipsy.

The drinks were nice. Good selection it started busy but we never waited more than a minute or so at the bar.

We went for our meal about an hour into the all inclusive
First of all the menu dramatically changed. It used to be a 2 course set menu. Now it's an allowance of £25pp. Which seems brilliant but when you see the menu there are supplements everywhere, there's only a few combinations you can have that keep you under your allowance.

For starter I had black pudding and chorizo chips, tasty but it was less of a starter and more of an amuse bouche. My wife got a single mozzarella stick. Together they were priced at 15.50.

Mains
My wife got a steak ciabatta and had to pay £2.50 for cheese on it. This made the dish £26.50 which is nothing short of ludicrous and to add insult to injury the cheese that was added was burger slice cheese.
I got a burger and chips, previously the chips here were absolutely gorgeous today they were different and frozen rubbish. My burger was seared to within an inch of its life, priced at £17 if I was paying full price for it I would have sent it back in a heartbeat.

All in all £58.50 for a mozerella stick, two slices of very thin black pudding and chorizo both with a side salad. A steak and cheese slice ciabatta and a burger that was less well done and more congratulations.

The waiter came over and refilled my drink free as part of the package so credit where it's due.

The drinks were fine, though it's not that difficult to mix 2 ingredients together. I may have drank more than I wanted to because I knew I had to face sleeping in that uncomfortable bed. Slept ok as it happened.

There was entertainment on in the way of karaoke which enhanced the atmosphere

Next day we had breakfast a full English 1 sausage 1 egg, 1 hash brown, 2 bacon and a slice of black pudding. Was absolutely delicious so I can only assume a different chef cooked it from the night before. Free continental/ toast/ fruit juice buffet aswell.

Every member of staff we encountered were lovely. The young girl behind the bar was chatty.

All in all we paid just over £116 for the entire package which stopped me complaining because I think we drunk about that alone, however I won't be returning here.

Christmas day Lunch 2025 - What a total waste of money - they need a new chef!
Pros:

Christmas Day Lunch 2025 - £79.00 per head x5. Total £395.00
Don't waste your money. The food was so terrible. & the Service? what service!
Overpriced food, Drinks extortionate £30.00 for a cheap bottle of vinegar wine,
No Christmas atmosphere just playing Alexa on repeat,

Starter- Soup had no flavour bland. prawn cocktail had a terrible flavor to it.

Main - Beef option was like fray Bento's pie (dog meat) Not sliced beef off the bone, frozen sprouts & roasties. No pigs in blankets No Yorkshire pudding No mash. Just slop.

Turkey option was no better. like from a packet. No mash No cranberry offered plus everything was covered in gravy? No option just served.

Desert - Christmas pudding with something on top? revolting.

When we got home, we all felt so sick.
First timers never again. Stay home for 2026

Filthy hotel
Pros:

Thankfully only stayed one night to visit friends locally. I understand that the hotel is in need of an update to the decor and some refurb, that's reflected in the price. However that doesn't excuse the lack of basic cleanliness and hygiene. The bathroom was covered in black mould. We'd already moved rooms once due to the mattress in the first room being broken and collapsed on one side so couldn't be bothered asking to move again because of the filthy bathroom. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
