Close to our venue and very cool room in the heat. Very clean and fairly spacious family room.
Out side looking very sad. Rubbish and all plants dead.
Breakfast was the only thing we can say that we approved of.
We had booked 4 rooms for 3 nights, Problems with booking upon arrival.
Unhelpful & Lack of staff to cover reception & bar areas
Hotel is now very tried & run down.
Very poor standard & lack of food.
The receptionist was helpful and agreed to cancel and refund the reservation. The room looked clean, although I did not have a chance to use it. The hotel should be a reasonable value for money in colder times of the year.
The hotel owners decided to switch off the air conditioning on the hottest day. The room was unlivable: a portable fan was circulating hot air. Many families were sitting in the air-conditioned lobby.
Location and generally clean
On a warm day it was unbelievably hot. Room really kept the heat and was not habitable. Aircon not working
I am extremely disappointed with our stay. The room was unbearably hot, with no air conditioning, despite my husband's room having air conditioning installed. This inconsistency made no sense and had a significant impact on our comfort.
To make matters worse, we were unable to open the windows, leaving us with no ventilation at all. I was staying with my disabled son, and the lack of fresh air made the room almost impossible to stay in. We could hardly breathe, and it was an incredibly distressing experience.
The telephone in our room was also not working, which meant I couldn't get hold of anyone at reception. We repeatedly tried to contact reception throughout the evening for assistance but were unable to reach anyone. Being unable to get help when we needed it was completely unacceptable.
Overall, the conditions were terrible, and I would not expect guests—especially those with disabled family members—to be left in such an uncomfortable and unsafe environment. This experience fell well below the standard we expected.

That’s not air conditioning in the place. Because of the hot weather, my wife asked for another fan. They just gave around 1am. Terrible situation.
Location. Receptionist working very hard but with little power - see below.
Some rooms have aircon and some not. The standard line is there is none and then reception and breakfast room feels like a fridge.
Some rooms do have cold air but controls impossible to navigate. Staff unable to allocate rooms according to aircon during a heatwave. Seems to be a management directive. We had one in our party that wanted aircon and one who happy without but they were unable to do anything!
Breakfast was nice although wasn't much left/replenished
Broken travel cots and leaking air conditioning. The travel cot provided and put up in our room was snapped underneath and whoever put it up knew this. It collapsed on our baby when we put her in it. And we asked for another. The alternative was ripped, broken and disgusting. We asked for another and they never returned, apologized or explained. The baby slept in the double bed and I sat up to make sure she was safe.
Usually we'd bring our own but we'd just been camping for a week so didn't have room for one.
The location.
Hotel not as described. None of the air conditioning was working. Both rooms with air conditioning not working. No rooms available to move to that had working air con. Staff said it had been a problem for years.
Hotel should not be advertising that the rooms have air-conditioning. Lots of guests were complaining. My garmin registered the room as 30°C, I was taking cold showers every few hours to keep cool. Very poor.
Staff were unapologetic blaming the owners of the building.
It was conveniently located and competitively priced
The air conditioning in our room wasn’t working….on the hottest day of the year! The heat was unbearable. We were travelling with our dog who became quite distressed very quickly. My husband went to reception to ask for someone to come and take a look. The receptionist was extremely rude and unhelpful, jumping down his throat immediately to tell him that all they were obliged to do was provide a fan. We booked ourselves into another hotel and left immediately. I appreciate that these were freak weather conditions but she didn’t offer any alternative room. Horrible.
Location and staff
Cleanance level
Very helpful and friendly staff
Good location
Comfortable stay
All was good overall
Cool with AC quiet and clean
Slight smell in room, could have been fresher
Unfortunately the hotel had it's air conditioning turned off which made the rooms unbearable hot. They had put fans in the rooms but over the heat wave, these didn't take the edge off
It was close to the event I was attending.
NO AIRCONDITIONING IN THE BEDROOMS! I booked a so-called Executive Room. It was over 34 degrees outside and the only ventilation was a poxy little desk fan. There is air conditioning installed but it doesn’t work and this appears to be a permanent state of affairs, a conscious decision by the owners.I suspect it is freezing in winter and the heating doesn’t work, either, as there was an electric radiator standing in the room.
I hadn’t realised Holiday Inn is a franchise. This particular one (Kenilworth) is owned by an asset management company since 2017. They have no interest in hospitality and it shows, badly. They want your money but have no interest in your well being. Nor do they seem interested in repeat customers.
I can firmly say this was my first and last time, ever, in a Holiday Inn. The staff were lovely, but even they seemed to be embarrassed to be working there. I suspect working on behalf of an asset management company in the hospitality industry is pretty soul destroying., at least this particular one.
People were lining up at the reception desk to complain about the lack of air conditioning. They couldn’t even provide an extra fan on request.
No AC in room and couldn't open window on hottest day/ night of the year.
No AC
