The night manager was very helpful and it’s well located for Kenilworth.
We paid for a family room, the sofa bed was not made on check in. We told the front desk at 3pm before leaving for the day. Upon our return at 11pm the bed was still not made up. The night manager did all that he could to help and sorted a different room but should our party have included a young child this would not have been appropriate. The breakfast was also disappointing, the staff were nice but there weren’t enough of them for the number of guests. The outside area was full of rubbish from the evening before and the hotel seemed dated.
The room was very spacious, the staff were helpful and breakfast was delicious. Kenilworth was lovely.
The location
Disappointing Stay
Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was quite disappointing. The food quality was not up to the standard I expected, which made the overall experience less enjoyable.
More importantly, some of the rooms did not have potable/drinkable water available, which was a major inconvenience. There were also rooms without air conditioning, making it uncomfortable, especially when trying to rest.
For the price paid, I expected much better basic amenities and comfort. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and makes improvements to ensure future guests have a more comfortable and satisfactory stay.
The bedroom was a long way from reception. It was up and down stairs and everything looked as if it needed painting. It was very tired. The door handle was loose. Around 6 am I was woken by noises and voices coming from where I assume the breakfast team was preparing.
Overall I was very surprised at the standard and would not stay there again.
Good location and good value for money
Parking wasn’t the easiest if you had a big car
Downstairs was lovely, staff very friendly in bar and great food. Room was basic but comfortable apart from sofa / sofa bed which was extremely hard, wouldnt want to sleep on this.
Getting to my bedroom was like a labyrinth and at time confusing, at one point whilst trying to find some stairs as couldnt find the lift I ended up at a stairs / fire escape which was blocked outside by barrels - did report this to reception desk but I was a bit worried that should there be a fire the hotel might be difficult to exit due to its rambling nature etc
