Good location
No air conditioning in the peak of a heat wave / boiling hot pipes in bathroom that you couldn’t stand on the floor / family on other floor had air conditioning and we had 7 rooms booked all which didn’t have no air facilities. Terrible
Location
Was happy with it
Location
Very slow broadband
Please read and believe the reviews!
We booked 2 rooms here as a stop off on our way back from our holiday. Unfortunately we trusted that it would be ok and didn't read the reviews first. Big mistake.
We are diamond elite members and loyal to ihg , however this has left a bitter taste in our mouths!
The hotel is dated, we had a premium room and a family room booked. The premium room had no working air conditioning, so was stifling. In contrast the family room air conditioning ran like a fridge? We couldn't change it. The sofa in the family room was not fit for purpose. Uncomfortable and just sheets thrown on it. The duvets for all beds were in the wardrobe? The family room just had one duvet. We padded the sofa bed out with that and used towels to cover us.
The bar was poorly stocked. No draught beer at all available, and a few bottles in the fridge. And cans of pop. No j20 either. It was quiet, we ordered our food and sat. And waited. 45 minutes later still no food. So we went to find out what was happening. In the meantime my husband visited the toilets where he discovered a member of staff cleaning the toilets with a towel? He then carried the towel through, placed next to the coffee machine to talk, then carried the towel into the kitchen. At this point we decided not to eat. We cancelled the food and were assured we would be credited for it, as we used our rewards vouchers to pay. This never happened.
We contacted IHG and were informed someone would be in touch asap. It took over a week to get a response, the manager was dismissive and we never got our rewards reinstated as promised. We feel very let down and definitely wouldn't return. We didn't risk eating breakfast and left early. We did laugh on our way out , as we walked past the "cleaner" on the way down the corridor, sat in a chair tucked round a corner scrolling on her phone. No wonder the standards are low. Very poorly managed. IHG should be ashamed.
I thought that for £178 for one night and no air conditioning was quite steep.
Room was clean and comfortable.
Again when ordering a burger for a price of £18.50 for what looked like a small Tesco value burger, some pickle and a few fries was expensive.
Luckily the fan provided meant that the heat in the room was alleviated for sleeping although it made a racket.
We would not recommend this hotel, especially for families with young children or elderly guests, during warm weather.
The biggest issue is that there is no air conditioning in the rooms. A fan is provided, but it made very little difference. The room felt like a sauna, and I developed a headache after only a few minutes. The window could only be opened a small crack, so even the cooler evening air couldn’t circulate into the room. As a result, our family hardly slept at all.
Although the room was clean, it looked very tired and in need of refurbishment. There were no power sockets near the beds and no USB charging ports anywhere in the room, which felt very outdated for a modern hotel.
I also noticed an additional electric heater stored under the table, which made me wonder how cold the room must get during winter.
The only parts of our stay that met expectations were the breakfast, which had a good selection, and the restaurant, which thankfully was air-conditioned.
If you’re travelling in summer or during a heatwave, I would strongly recommend booking somewhere with proper air conditioning instead.
Location of the hotel
Nothing
Food
No aircon and they have it just wont fix it. So hot couldnt sleep. Say dont offer it. You expect it in a chain and for the money we paid. So dont book it. We wont ever book IHG again. No sockets near bed.Hotel is tired bits falling off ceiling. Its so shabby. Better elsewhere. Raised a complaint and nothing.
Room fine, good position good breakfast, except the eggs were almost always cold.
There was a lot of muddle about towels, which we didn't want replaced, then there was only one and we had to ask for another.
Location
No AC, only told about it once we said about it in the morning after the night of no AC.
Bar, restaurant et petit déjeuner et surtout le personnel au top !
La salle de bain, pas de pression pour la douche et le toilette.
How can a hotel offer a room with no aircon in the heat? Terrible
I stayed here for 7 nights, earlier this month, on a work-related visit.
I'd never been to Kenilworth before, let alone this particular hotel, and I'll be honest - when I read some of the previous Reviews I wasn't feeling too hopeful about the experience.
However, I was very pleasantly surprised.
The friendly welcome and slick check-in was seamless. The room (#223) was spacious and perfectly adequate.
And it had air-con, which was working efficiently.
The breakfast was tasty and had plenty of choices. (However, the coffee machine wasn't great), and the breakfast staff (especially Noi) were lovely.
First room allocated - broken air-con with room temperature over 40 degrees - only a fan in room. Apparently it only has about 10 rooms left with working air con - they did find us one. It seems that owners do not respond to staff when reporting air con failure. Looking at some of the paintwork that would seem to be the case overall
The reception staff were pleasant, the location was very good in the centre of Kenilworth. The room was comfortable, clean and tidy.
I didn't like the fact there was no air-conditioning in the rooms. The staff and service in the bar /restaurant was appalling. The staff were not very polite and the time spent waiting for the meal to arrive was disgusting, this had to be chased. Considering it is supposed to be a good place to stay, I will not be going back.
