Lovely restored hotel. Beautiful grounds Food was exceptional. Staff were lovely
Nothing
Beautiful hotel, great food and attentive, friendly staff
Nothing we didn't like
Clean and comfortable, friendly staff
Lack of a swimming pool and sauna facilities. Also the noise from the jackdaws that were nesting in the trees, so noisy.
All great thanks
Staff, grounds, meal...
Great food, exceptional dinner. Good breakfast. Very welcoming, dog friendly, delightful staff and owner.
Staff are amazing, beautiful grounds, great food and super dog friendly
We stayed in the new Shepards hut - I think it could be great if a fridge was added and a more comfortable mattress/topper and if possible moved so not so near the road. Hotel rooms were great last time we stayed.
Quiet location, comfortable bed, lovely room, yummy food, staff very polite and helpful. View from the back of the hotel stunning.
Everything was good
This place is homely and a rare find. The gardens are lovely and the place is very dog friendly. The staff are exceptional, kind and friendly. Gr
Eat food too.
House and gardens are beautiful and peaceful. Staff friendly and attentive, food very good. Will definitely return if back in the area. Very dog friendly but also have separate dining areas for those with/without dogs so that people are not subjected to furry friends if they prefer not.
Paid for a hotel room, hotel called to tell me it wasn't actually available and I would get a refund. Have email, gone thru PayPal and booking.com and have had zero comms from the hotel and obviously no refund
food was well cooked and had a good selection of options without being over facing, room was very comfortable with both bath and separate shower ensuite.
a very minor matter, but wifi was patchy in our bedroom which might have been a problem if we had intended to work (we didn't!) as only 4G available.
Loved the garden suit nice and clean and comfortable with everything you needed.
The location of the garden suit was not the best as we had loads of crows above us in the trees it was not very relaxing , they made a noise all night. Maybe this needs to be put in the information when before booking or even change the location in the garden away from the crows.
The friendly staff and general ambience of the Hotel. Very good location. Generally very good food.
One night the food was overcooked but probably due to stand-in chef - otherwise good quality and variety. Pity about the racket from the birds but what you would expect with the hotel being in the middle of a rookery!!
Excellent staff, lovely rooms great staff.
Lovely location with Hot Tub/Sauna in garden.
Beautiful location and venue. Room was newly decorated and a comfortable bed with lovely linen. The food was excellent, very well presented and the staff were lovely and attentive.
The garden spa wasn’t used, we looked over the spa area, with a view to use the hot tub. The tub is overlooked from several rooms as we could see from ours, and this put us off. The dinner service was friendly and the staff so nice, but it was apparent that the team are still gelling and it wasn’t yet as slick as it could be to call it a high end experience
Great setting - lovely grounds. Relaxed atmosphere and good food. Staff were you g and pleasant.
Although the Shepherd’s Hut was clean compact and bijoux. It was a hot night and the room was like a sauna - even with the windows open. The door window needed a curtain or blind for privacy and lacked a fridge.
Stayed in the Shepherds hut, a first for us. Charming, comfortable and exactly what we expected.
