Pros:

Convenience, the lobby was beautiful

Cons:

The swimming pool was COLD despite being advertised heated. The pool area / water park was very outdated. The chlorine had made the entire area rusty. It needs a serious overhaul.

This hotel has so much potential to be a true destination stay
Pros:

Having littles in tow, the onsite restaurant and frozen yogurt joint was hard to beat! The arcade games all being $1 to play was nice, and one of the machines let them win a prize each time. The staff all seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs and were so friendly. We would probably return to this location next time we are in the area.

Cons:

I’m so disappointed Holiday Inn corporate has not swept in and renovated this space. While everything was appropriately clean, you can’t clean away rusting water park equipment or half-working TV’s in rooms or showers that won’t turn on. This building has such potential and I want badly to love it- I hope by the time we return it’s gotten a major remodel! Either that, or don’t charge a full-price hotel room for a dated hotel stay.

My husband and our 5-year-old visited Orange Leaf inside the hotel. When they walked in, there was no staff member present. They got their cups of ice cream and placed them on the scale, but while waiting for assistance, they could see someone moving around in the kitchen area. They tried multiple times to get the person’s attention but were unable to get anyone to come out.

My husband eventually went over to Burger Theory to ask for help, only to discover that the person in the kitchen was not an employee. Unfortunately, the individual appeared to be under the influence of something and became very upset. It was an unsettling and scary situation, especially because my young child was unknowingly alone in the shop with this individual.

There needs to be better staffing or some sort of safety measure in place to ensure this doesn’t happen again. No family should have to worry about their child being put in a situation like this while simply trying to enjoy a treat at a hotel.

Between this experience and concerns about the surrounding area, we unfortunately won’t be returning, which is disappointing because our kids absolutely love the water park.

Cons:

My room developed a water leak in the ceiling over night causing a puddle to form in the middle of the floor. On my way to the bathroom I slipped and fell. I tried calling the front desk but the room phone didn’t work either. It was 2am and my daughter was asleep so I put a towel down and informed the front desk in the morning. The gentleman looked at the computer and stated “that room never should have been rented”. The hotel refused any type of solution to rectify the inconvenience.

Didn't work out for us. 😥
Pros:

The room met our needs. Nice sized bathroom and we appreciated 2 King size beds.

Cons:

Parking lot seemed confusing-- little to no room for 2 cars to go past each other in opposite directions. Was unaware we would have to pay for parking. No luggage carts so we had to carry all our stuff (had 2 toddlers with us) to the 4th floor which took 2 trips. Pool was a DISASTER! Way too many people for the size. Could barely walk around people much less "swim"..a 3 year old was doing front flips into the 3' water and no parent supervision. I felt like we were the only ones wearing wristbands. The slide on the playarea was dangerous. No chairs for people to sit. We were really looking forward to the Waterpark and it was by far the worst part of our trip. Needs to be more supervision of who's getting in.

Money over Safety
Pros:

Spent a Wednesday and Thursday night at this hotel in late August. I was traveling with my 10 yr old daughter, so I chose it specifically for the water park which my daughter enjoyed. Every staff member I encountered was professional and kind. My problem arose during the early morning of our last night. An unnoticed water leak in the ceiling created a puddle of water on the floor sometime during the night. When I woke up around 2am to use the bathroom I slipped and fell. Hurting my left hip and lower back. I tried to call the front desk but the phone in the room didn’t work. I notified the front desk attendant when I was checking out at 8 am he stated that the room I was assigned never should have been rented. I called and spoke to the GM as soon as I got in my car. I asked for an incident report and a full refund, but have yet to receive either. After reading other guest reviews it seems there have been ongoing issues with the plumbing at this particular hotel.

Cons:

We had to switch rooms by my request due to heavy paint fumes as they painted in this room earlier in the day with ZERO extra ventilation. Then we tried to get extra things for the next room like pillows and blankets. We were unable to Parking is a joke like big time joke. Tried speaking to the manager and she refused to talk to me many times. Finally Marcus made the deal. He got us a room so no one had to sleep in the worlds worst pull out couch. He deserves a managerial position. Eddie also tried hard. I need a refund on my down graded rooms. Which I’m sure I’ll never see.
