Cheap but unfortunately not cheerful!
Pros:

Only the convenience

Cons:

Very dated, layout of the room in the basement which was dark and dingy. Having to pay for an overcrowded car park.

Pros:

Great location, great breakfast.

Cons:

Fire alarm going off around 6am saturday morning.
No one was on sight. Took about half an hour for someone to turn up while we were outside in the rain. Not even an apology.

Cons:

Outdoor light on and off throughout the night the curtains too thin to shield the light disturbance. No soundproofing we could hear every word of the people upstairs and their dog running around.

Pleasant stay
Pros:

Location very good. Close to city centre, so restaurants, shopping etc was easily accessible. Less than 10 mins walk away.
Room were comfortable and clean. 3 of us stayed for one night when visiting our family member studying at the local uni. Basic tea and coffee making facilities available.

Cons:

The heating was centrally controlled and was switched quite early in the night during a very cold spell. Although we flagged this up, nothing could be done. There was a small heater in one of the rooms which was not sufficient. But once in bed, it was fine. But i would still stay heating should be on at least till midnight!
We had to pay for parking, £10 for one night parking.

Pros:

The Armada was a lovely suite, well suited to us for having some drinks together and then visiting the Barbican. Decor was modern and pleasant, rooms were comfortable, spacious and well-equipped. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, the towel size was excellent, the bathroom was lovely and the shower was wonderful in temperature and pressure. I managed to get parking which was also very convenient. Absolutely would stay again.

Cons:

Only very minor things: the sink plug didn't hold water in the kitchen and the knives were very blunt. Sound travelled fairly clearly through the bedroom wall in the night. Careful if you're parked at the front in a low car, there's a hefty slope to exit!

Potential not quite reached.
Pros:

Clean, everything you needed.
Breakfast was plentiful and quick.
Powerful shower.

Cons:

Pay for parkimg on their site £10. De ided to park on street cheaper.
Told the twin rooms was on ground floor so easy disabled access, but reality was you had to go up or down steps to get to any rooms, no ramps.
Breakfast was a bit cold as if prepared earlier and then brought. Was like a buffet without the biffet option for the English Breakfast which dosappointed. Nothing wrong with it exactly, but not good either which it could easily have been.
Shower never got warm.

Perfect other than no air con
Pros:

Location to main city excellent. Bed very comfy

Cons:

Could do with air con in the room as was quite warm and the plug in fan didn't really do much
