Comfortable base for exploring Durham and beyond.
Pros:

Lovely welcome and check in by Amy, who was friendly, helpful and efficient. Very pleased with our room with River View - It had everything that we needed for our 2 nights stay. We didn't eat in the hotel, but the menu was very tempting. Liked the hydration station in the lift lobby. (Would have liked there to have been carafes there, so that we could pick up our water on the way from the lift to our room)
Pleasant walk along the riverside to reach the old town, Cathedral and Castle.
Katie checked us out, and like Amy, she was friendly, helpful and efficient.
Hoping to return here soon (I'll remember my swimming costume this time)!
Would certainly recommend to anyone wanting a comfortable base for exploring Durham and beyond.

Pros:

Good location, nice rooms.

Cons:

Twin room ordered but not set-up as such so needed to wait. Thought the staff could have been more apologetic about this.

Comfortable, quiet and friendly accommodating staff.
Pros:

Location is good, quiet area but close to city centre and perfect for university visits. Breakfast was plentiful and good choice.

Cons:

Had to pay to park. VAT on the evening meal bill - never experienced this before.

Everybody's first day at work
Pros:

Good size room

Cons:

I was not asked to provide any credit card on arrival, so when I wanted to put a meal on my room they could not do it and we not helpful to sort it out. The spa 'don't supply robes' unless you are on some package, even though I had booked a 50 minute massage. I was expected to sit in a towel in a busy waiting area, which I declined. In the gym, the staff gave me a towel, but didn't bother to mention I needed a token for the locker. Overall, it seemed like everybody's first day on the job. I have stayed at several Radisson blu hotels across Europe, and this was amateurish in comparison.
