I prefer to stay in somewhere that has some history relevant to the town rather than a modern 'everything works' place so I assumed the hotel might be a bit faded grandeur and I am happy with that. The room was large and beautifully proportioned with sash windows and a pretty comfortable bed but a wood chip ceiling with obvious water damage. I don't mind that but keep your expectations at this level. Lovely old house with beautiful views down over Malvern and easy access to the hills and the Priory. Has a lovely feel of being a former focal point of the town,
Would have liked a fridge to avoid having to have UHT milk portions for the coffee/tea.
We ate in the dining room on one night and it was OK nothing special and the breakfast left A LOT to be desired. For example, the bread was brown or white supermarket cheap - it would be easy to have decent bread and, in a hotel, offer croissants/pain au chocolat - in the town I saw at least two pretty good looking bakeries. The scrambled eggs were done with an air thingy which is my personal dislike and they couldn't cook poached eggs. The inclusive breakfast doesn't include the cost of tea and coffee which was a first for me!
The reception was rather intermittently manned and I, as a guest, had to help two separate arrivals with directions to go downstairs to the restaurant. after a tiring travel, it doesn't set the hotel up well.
Although there are a few electric car chargers, none were working (and haven't been for a while), and, in my opinion, are very badly located - they are up a very very steep hill which, as anyone with an electric vehicle will know, is worrying for a low slung car/battery.
Is there an outside terrace? yes, ... in the car park!
nicely situated
terrible parking, very strange layout - restaurant with no bar seating and stuff ushering you away.
The reception was just a desk plonked in a room and a seeming rather clueless receptionist.
Room was tidy but clearly hasnt been p[ainted ot updates for at least a decade. My window opened directly onto the back of the Indian restaurant so all i could smell for my stay was curry.
Really friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was good and The Latern, Indian restaurant, was fantastic, lovely food. Great position, we had a room at the front that overlooked the Priory, and the countryside, for miles beyond.
Beautifully renovated room - fabulous bathroom. Friendly staff and great breakfast, including veggie options
The room I was allocated was right next to the beer garden, so had to keep the net curtains across, and headphones in. I'd booked one of the lower cost rooms, though, and appreciate a room with a view would have been more expensive
The location & availability of parking were excellent. Dinner & breakfast were both very good and all staff were helpful. Easy check-in.
Unfortunately stayed at hottest time of year & the 2 (vertical type/very weak) fans in our room did not make a huge difference to the heat.
We only stayed for 1 night, but it was a good experience.
It was very quiet.
It would have been better to have a fridge in the room.
Excellent breakfast and friendly staff
There were no glasses in the room, so we had to use cups for drinking water.
Parking right outside, clear check in instructions, helpful staff. Breakfast was nice. Good central location.
Bed was so hard, pillows very old and duvet was way too hot.
room - modern, great shower and large tv screen; breakfast - lovely filling cooked English breakfast. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Location - exactly where I needed to be.
bed - was oddly hard
The location was great, fantastic views from the front of the property and the beer garden. Bar/ breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful.
WiFi was patchy. The room we were allocated was actually identical to a Pontins chalet, not an integrated hotel room that we had expected from the pictures on Booking.com. No lounge, which is weird.
Pleasant and helpful staff. Breakfast suburb. Room super.
booking.com technology.
It's originality
The stairs
Staff were very nice and breakfast was lovely
Evening meal was disappointing for price. My burger was burnt.
Room was clean but could do with TLC.
Quite expensive for what it was
