Nice cottage in an attractive rural setting.
Pros:

The property was well furnished, spacious and had all the amenities we needed. The location is ideal for walking with many paths accessible nearby. Wifi availability is very useful considering the remote location.

Cons:

We didn't like the bins parked in front of the cottages' sign. They don't look nice and we missed the entrance because we couldn't see the sign.
The reception isn't signposted and so we were wandering around the site after arrival until someone came out of a building to greet us.
The shower basin leaks water onto the floor.
The bathroom fan does not work.
The skirting boards and doors need cleaning, especially in the bathroom.
Our 3 requests on booking.com were not answered regarding check-in times.

Idyllic setting, beautiful cottage, brilliant value for money.
Pros:

The location was idyllic, the entire place exceeding expectations. We were only disappointed that we were only staying one night as we were using it as a stop over. We would like to return to the cottage and explore the surrounding area.

Cons:

The only tiny thing wrong was the latch on the tablet tray in the tabletop dishwasher was broken but then again I wasn't expecting a dishwasher.

Quiet and relaxing. We really only used it as a base for travelling.
Pros:

The bed was a little hard for my liking, but otherwise the room and en suite were very good.

Lovely guesthouse and perfect for solo travellers
Pros:

Beautiful location and perfect for a solo traveller. The addition of a restaurant on site was a bonus!

From arrival to departure we were made very welcome. Could not fault the hotel in any way! The food was superb.

Enjoyable relaxing stay at a very peaceful hotel.
Pros:

The property was well situated for our travels in a quiet position next to the river Nith. We stayed in the room named Grouse which had a whirlpool bath which was beneficial after our tiring days exploring. The food was excellent and cooked to order both dinner and breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful when required.

Pros:

De ligging is zeer rustig aan een riviertje en vrij dichtbij heb je leuke wandelroutes of bezienswaardigheden. De eigenaars waren vriendelijk en behulpzaam voor wandeltips.

Cons:

Wij verbleven in de cottage waar er in de inkom een onaangename geur hing en er waren veel spinnenwebben aan het dakraam. De cottage zelf was wel ruim en had alle benodigdheden beschikbaar.
