Though the price was attractive, and the location was good, The Crescent failed in absolutely every
Pros:

Proximity to Reading Town Centre

Cons:

Room grubby, thin duvet, heating didn’t work, poorly fitted vanity unit, tepid hot water in room, poorly fitted and stained carpet, only a single electrical socket, tea and coffee not replenished, tepid shower in bathroom, soiled toilet not cleaned, no staff available, smell of cannabis use permeated communal areas, no plug for sink in bathroom.

Pros:

Ease of access

Cons:

The bedding was stained. I could feel a hole in my mattress. The bathroom was dirty, while I understand that cleaning isn't on a daily but a shared washroom can be cleaned daily. It usually ran out of toilet paper.

The walls are thin, you can hear the next door's phone calls.

Cold shower that was a dribble and no heating!

Pros:

It was very close to the spires Dunedin hospital, it was quite cheap. The sheets and towels where clean..

Cons:

The walls where paper thin it was cold the heating and drainage was really noisy. I could hear everything going on around me there where clearly people smoking in the rooms (although with hindsight it didn't say it was a nonsmoking establishment) really steep stairs with fire doors right at the top (which was reassuring but quite tricky to navigate. Everything looked pretty worn out and a bit rundown. Which was a shame as the owners seemed to be trying quite hard, but when prices are this low what do you really expect.
