Important information:

Swim caps are needed to enter the pool and can be purchased in the leisure centre for EUR 3.

Children under the age of 15 are not permitted in the bar after 21:00 and are not allowed after 22:00 from May to September.

Please note that, for health and safety reasons, the property will accommodate only the number of guests specified in the booking confirmation.

Please note that the leisure centre is open from Monday to Thursday from 05:45 to 21:00, on Fridays from 05:45 to 20:00, on Saturdays and Sundays from 08:00 to 19:00, and on bank holidays from 08:00 to 20:00.

The fitness centre, pool and Spa areas close 15 minutes prior to the closing times noted above and all members are asked to be mindful of the need to vacate the club’s changing rooms before closing time.

There is a frequent bus service to Galway city centre from outside the hotel.


For security and fraud purposes, guests are required to present the same valid credit card used to guarantee the reservation, and a valid government-issued photo identification (passport or driver's licence) that matches the name on the credit card. Both the credit card and the identification must be presented by the registered guest at check-in.
If a guest is unable or unwilling to present the required credit card and matching photo identification upon arrival, Claregalway Hotel reserves the right to refuse check-in and cancel the reservation.
In such circumstances, the reservation will be treated in accordance with the applicable booking terms and cancellation policy, and any applicable charges may still apply. We do not accept cash payments on reception desk. Please be advised also that we do not accept American Express Card


For bookings of 5 bedrooms or more, or stays of 5 nights or more, a 50% deposit is required within 7 days of making the reservation, and a full non-refundable payment is required 6 weeks in advance of arrival.

For bookings made during the Galway Races, you will be contacted by hotel staff regarding deposit payment.

Please note that the kids' club is not available during Galway Race Week.

A breakfast surcharge, equal to the adult breakfast rate, applies to children aged 13 years or older.

Pros:

The restaurant was a delicious and breakfast was great.
The room for 5 was comfortable. Kids enjoyed the hotel great having a central and lidl near by. They enjoyed the pool.

Cons:

Great for access to galway but otherwise very little in the area. The summerfield pub was lovely but quiet mid week and nearby arches hotel had lovely evening meal one evening.

The hot tub needs to be boosted, little to no bubbles, but very hot!
The changing area should be swept down more often. Used pool at 11am and there was alot of hair on the ground.

Not as chjld friendly as we thought
Pros:

The decor of the hotel was lovely and the halloween themed. Decoration were lovely. The breakfast was very nice. And the staff in the restaurant were nice.
The pool was nice but freezing as were the changing rooms.

Cons:

The Family rooms were very tight for a family of 5. You couldnt swing a cat in it. My 4 year old got stuck in the fold out bed when we arrived as it wasnt made up properly.
The reception staff were not overly friendly. It is supposed to be a family hotel yet the children were not allowed to play at 10pm in the lobby area they were asked to be quiet which upset everyone. It is their holiday their midterm break. They were laughing and playing and not upsetting anyone. 3 siblings playinh together they were away from the bar area and away from the bedrooms. For the half an hour you get them off the devices to play a few games together then to be told off! So I am not so sure they are a family friendly hotel as they advertise to be honest I get the feeling its more of a corporate hotel. Very grumpy vibes jn the place.

Pas grand chose...

Cons:

Ca ne vaut pas le prix... Froid dans la chambre, pas de chauffage très puissant, vieillot, pas de chaîne TV si on veut se faire un film (à ce prix, même si on n'est pas tv, ça fait tjrs plaisir quand il pleut dehors avec des enfants), cheap... La piscine est bien pour les enfants mais froide. Interdit d'aller au jacuzzi si on a moins de 18 ans. On a payé 136 euros, ça n'en vaut pas la peine...
