Perfect
Great spot to walk down to lynmouth and back
Wonderful stop over for one night on a cycle tour, loved the property and would have like to have stayed for longer
Great old pub, rooms where excellent (even a bath) great evening meal and fantastic breakfast,
This establishment as changed hands from last visit 2 years ago. Now owned st Austell brewery. Staff especially one yonger lady on in the mornings and evenings can be quite abrupt. Service no where near as good as 2 year ago. First night had booked table kept waiting for almist one half hours. Had to complain. Other tables came much karger were served. Did get meal for half price thou. Building work is ongoing which when asked how long for told 2 months. Builders start early by 8am driving machinery up and down pass the restaurant when your having breakfast. To make matters worst i had them outside my room one morning at 7 am making noise. I again had to complain. Car park opposite is half taken by builders and aggregate . Dogs are alloqed in the restaurant which i do not agree with . Myst have be y or 7 on one might. Bar ok but not restaurant. One early evening you could overhear the cleaning staff discussing the guests staying especially ones with dogs. Comment was made by them of a guest with dogs with room on a mess with the carpet covered in ticks and the smell was overwhelming. Obviously the inn does not keep specific rooms for dog owners as dog was in room next to me one one night. Food i would say overpriced for type it is. Now being brewery owned its a typical pub menu with perhaps half dozen items now per course. No where near as good as it was inder previous owners 2 years back. That was the reason chose this place to stay.woyld not stay again
Really enjoyed my stay, just would have liked breakfast to be earlier then 8:30.
Lovely old, quaint inn in beautiful countryside.
Water pressure was low, but the hot water when it came was scalding hot.
The food was good but would have liked more seafood choices..
Delicious steak and ale pie, and blackberry meringue dessert. Breakfast had good options for a hot meal or cold buffet.
Preferred this property before it became a chain. Not best menu.
Comfortable beds though.
Amazing stay comfortable bed, very clean room and bathroom, dinner was delicious food, breakfast was very good to, guy who served us was very upbeat and on point, worth a visit, we would definitely recommend and go back.
A great place to stay close to Lynton and Lynmouth. Lovely walks in and around Wayersmeet.
Very comfortable room in a pub in an old environment.
Continental breakfast included - cooked is chargable
Excellent beer and wine selection
Our stay at the Blue Boar was very comfortable and welcoming particularly as we had a dog.We had a lovely sized room with very comfortable beds and beautiful white crisp cotton bedding. The bath was large with piping hot water- lovely to relax in after a days walking. The food was exceptionally good in the evening and the breakfast was plentiful with a good variety of cooked options. We are definitely going to return when we are in the area again.
Fantastic place to stay!!! Dog friendly and kid friendly pub. Games room kept our 9 year old entertained. Traditional pub with great food!!! Breakfast was outstanding. Peaceful nights sleep in a comfortable and spacious room. All the staff were very friendly. Everywhere was clean and tidy. Would highly recommend.
Lovely location, nice room which was very clean. Very friendly staff & good food
Lovely countryside pub. Great food and good sevice from the hard working staff. Sat out on patio for drinks in the sun. Our room had a beautiful view down the valley. Very quiet at night.
Lovely old Inn Hotel, good food, very welcoming staff and a stunning area of the world. Would definitely stay here again.
Perfect place for us. We were able to take to dog away with us for the first time ever, as the Blue Ball is super dog-freindly. They even provided bowls, treats, doggy beer (yes, you read that correctly) & a ball to play with. Rooms were perfect. Walks were amazing. Staff were outstanding. Food was delicious.
First time I’ve be stayed here and will definitely be back next time I’m in the area. Missed breakfast due to an early meeting. Thanks again.
It was one of my favorite stays on my Southwest Coast Trail journey. Clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The meal was outstanding. I would highly recommend.
Great pub in a wonderful setting above the cliffs. Comfortable bed, great walkin shower. Food excellent.
Another great stay from Boxing Day to New Years Eve. New owners have taken over but the stay was as good as last Christmas
