My kids (8 and 11) really liked the activities for kids.
The hotel is in desperate need for renovation, the window in our room did not close so there was a lot of noice coming in from the street, the lights in the hallway where constantly out so it was pitch black and the elevators where very shabby. The pool area was dirty, rubbish all over. The food was average and few healthy choices.
.
Ciao Italian restaurant was lovely definitely worth a visit.
Excellent hotel, this is our second time & it has not disappointed. The animation team are amazing especially Marcos, Ivan, Lilia and Laura!
We stayed in an Ocean Suite and overall had a really enjoyable holiday.
Room
The Ocean Suite was clean and comfortable, although I probably wouldn’t describe it as a true “suite” as it felt fairly standard. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well in the bedroom. However, the sitting area stayed quite warm, so we found ourselves leaving a room card in the slot while we were out to keep the bedroom cool.
The shower in our bathroom leaked slightly, but because of the hot weather the floor was usually dry by the time we returned in the evening, so it wasn’t a major issue.
The room included a kettle, coffee machine and a small chiller. I wouldn’t really call it a fridge as it didn’t get particularly cold, but it was useful enough.
One thing worth knowing is that the hotel doesn’t provide bottled water. Instead, you’re given one refillable plastic bottle per room to use at the water refill stations (our closet refill station didn’t work though for our whole holiday). As there was only one bottle between us, we ended up buying bottled water from the vending machine and also picked up some larger bottles from a local shop to refill ourselves.
We saw a couple of cockroaches during our stay, but only outside around the hotel grounds, never inside the room. Given the climate, this wasn’t unexpected.
Entertainment
The entertainment was excellent and created a great atmosphere throughout the hotel. The animation team were fantastic with the children, and there was plenty going on during the day. Evening entertainment was also really enjoyable, with live singers and shows that adults could appreciate too.
Food & Drinks
We thought the food was good overall, with plenty of choice at every meal. There was always something for everyone, and even the three very fussy eaters in our group never struggled to find something they enjoyed.
We particularly loved the BBQ area by the quiet pool at lunchtime. We also ate at both à la carte restaurants. They were nice enough, but I probably wouldn’t have paid extra for them if they hadn’t been included as part of the all-inclusive package.
The bars were excellent, with a wide selection of drinks available. We especially loved the self-serve wine, beer and prosecco stations.
Pools
The pool facilities were fantastic. There was a great choice of pools, we never struggled to find a sunbed, and the slides were brilliant fun for both children and adults.
Location
The hotel is quite remote, but we knew that before booking. If you’re happy to stay within the resort, there’s really no need to leave as it has everything you need.
That said, we do like to explore a little while we’re away. We took a taxi to Costa Adeje, which cost around €35 each way, and also enjoyed walking around the local area. There are a few shops within walking distance, but not a great deal else, so it’s worth bearing in mind if you enjoy going somewhere different every day.
Overall
We travelled with our wider family, including two young children, which is why we chose this hotel as it’s clearly geared towards families. However, even as adults, we had a fantastic time. The combination of great entertainment, good food, excellent pool facilities and a relaxed atmosphere made for a really enjoyable holiday. We’d happily return and would recommend it, particularly to families with young children.
Our first time at this hotel.
Welcome on arrival was good, staff very helpful and we went straight to our rooms. We booked 2 suite rooms with ocean view, these were spacious and clean with the view as promised.
We were very pleased with the selection at the buffet restaurant and if it was exceptionally busy the other restaurant opposite was opened as well.
The pools were great, warm, which made getting in easier. No issues over sunbeds.
We visited both al a carte restaurants. The Ciao restaurant, the food was good but we felt we were being rushed. Waitress started to clear our table but I was still eating, my husband intervened. Bones, food was amazing and experience was much nicer.
The high ropes, we turned up for our son to participate, but was told we needed to book, this is not mentioned anywhere, not even on the app. We booked for 2 days later, he enjoyed it, even though it only took 20 mins.
Me, my husband and our son took part in archery, this was good fun!
On our last day we booked a Bali bed as a treat, this was really lovely, views over the ocean, a comfortable bed, sunbeds, drinks and snacks.
A few negatives...
Not known to us, we had arrived at the start of a festival week, we were awoken at 6am the following morning by what sounded like explosions (quite scary) but these were fireworks to start the festival.
There is not one comfortable seat in the place (other than a sunbed/bali bed, handful of sofas), everything is so hard with no cushions, very disappointing when you want to just sit back and relax.
The 2 pool bars were very different, Nautilus had great food with choices of soft drinks, beer, wine and sangria. If you wanted cocktails or spirits you needed to walk to the lounge bar or the other pool bar, nothing major just a bit inconvenient. A snack van was on route to the other pool.
Didn't really see much of the animation team, day or night.
Our last night was the Wednesday, which we ended up being kept awake, the music from the festival was extremely loud and went on until 5am (way to explain it - trying to sleep during a concert at the O2). The hotel had received several complaints from people thinking it was the hotel but it wasn't. Again we wasn't aware of this.
Overall we have enjoyed our relaxing holiday and the resort is a lovely place to stay, we would recommend this hotel.
Bastante completo
Very good experience with my familly. Nice pool and entertainement for kids every day so we recommand this hotel so far.
The food was very good I have been 10 times and I came in 2017 it was amazing!!!!!!
Sofia and Oscar in the entertainment team were amazing they made the trip perfect!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
We stayed here as a family and had a brilliant holiday. There are plenty of activities to keep young ones busy. The local area is lovely, although hilly. The food was great with snack bar and al a cartes to use aswell as buffett.
Rooms are a great size, although having to constantly use lifts every time did get a bit annoying.
Some areas are in desperate need of an update such as the soft play area, which looks dated and dirty. The splash park had big holes in and very worn. The teens club was just a room with a few games in, nothing like advertised. The icecream truck was never open near highropes.
There was a fair amount of disorganisation too. We paid for San Juan night and involved walking to a beach via the sister hotel. Felt like they could have made more of it. Booked to use the baby club, which was then closed when we turned up. Never really knew what was happening as things were advertised (such as bingo in the sunset bar) but never happened. Entertainment was poor. Music in the sunset bar was good, but felt like it always finished too soon and they could have done with playing some music afterwards or have another designated space away from the rooms for later night music/drinks. There are not enough bars available on a night, with only the sunset bar serving drinks. In peak season this must be so much worse. Wish they had better cocktail choices, im not sure why its advertised as all inclusive plus when some drinks are not included and cost extra. The pidgeons constantly roaming the snack bar are highly annoying. Watch out for the cockroaches on an evening too! Seen quite a few during our stay, thankfully not in our room though.
Despite some negatives, we all had a fabulous time away. The jet2 rep was helpful and all staff we interacted with were lovely. Kids loved the new slides and the pools, the high ropes, mini golf, etc. Help yourself drinks are brilliant and the hotel is well spread out to never feel overly crowded. Never had to wake early to get sun loungers either. They showed the world cup games on a large screen and kids loved landi and the mini disco. A play area would be beneficial, but there is one not far from the hotel. Sister hotel only a short walk from the back gate too, for a change of scenery.
We enjoyed our meal in Ciao restaurant. Great service, delicious food
This was my fifth time here if that explains ! This is great hotel not only because it is by the sea but the food is great. The rooms are clean and spacious. But, on the downside it is noisy outside the hotel with parties and fireworks.
