Hotel Nicol did not meet my expectation and there are better places available for more or less the same price in the Bed
Pros:

Location, despite being very close to a very busy freeway.

Cons:

It was all a bit “cheap and minimalist”. I stopped going to the mediocre breakfast buffet after a few days and ended up cooking eggs in my own frying pan. The room was not equipped with a hairdryer, wine glass, bottle opener, etc. you had to ask for these things at the reception. The kitchen had also very limited supplies/utensils, no kitchen towels and no soap. The kitchen sink water did not get hot. The electrical machines at the gym did not work. No free Netflix.

Pros:

I'd like to have aircon in the bedrooms and sitting rooms.

Cons:

The aircon wasn't user friendly. Not sure if it didn't work or what. It was quite cold.

I'm generally happy with the Nicol. i've made it my home away from home.
Pros:

I use the appartments so it feels like home away from home.

Cons:

I would prefer mugs as apposed to cups. I like having coffee but I much prefer a mug. i dont even use cups at home. Also your pillows are not very comfortable. As a result, i always end up sleeping on the couch and use the back rest of the couch as a pillow.

Absolutely horrible hotel
Pros:

The hotel was close the the mall and restaurants.

Cons:

-I requested a room on a high floor and a double bed and received the opposite. Low floor, 2 single beds. I was moved to a room with a double bed but still on the 2nd floor, the hotel has 9 floors or so.
-There’s no smoking allowed on the room floors but the pool area with chairs is closed at 6pm so you’re forced to smoke on the entrance side. This is just an area where you stand and smoke like a homeless person. It’s so embarrassing with other guests coming in and out, anyone who is not a smoker might think you’re over there waiting to rob them!
-The hotel has a LOT of rooms and apartments but 8 pool loungers, how?
-The breakfast room is so tiny, gets crowded after 9am and smells so bad with every guest so close to each other.
-If you decide to order room service, it comes in a plate covered with plastic wrap and in there is a single piece of bacon, huge slices of toast and one stick of butter! The portions are what we dish for my 3 year old.
-There was no rooibos tea in our room so I went downstairs to ask for it, the man gave me 2 uncovered teabags and one that was in a bag! How insane, unhygienic!
-The tea station in the room looked shocking and the tea wrappers looked so old! Didn’t touch that. We also didn’t have enough sugar.
-Our towels, which were white-turned-brown were collected every morning and brought back in the afternoon, odd.
-On arrival day, which was the 31st, a busy night, the pregnant lady at the restaurant told me that service was closed for the night and when I showed her a message from the hotel confirming the operating hours she said she was sorry I received the wrong information and had me on my way. No one even offered me a dry piece of bread! The following days were unbelievable because she and her colleagues were acting like they were the guest who wasn’t assisted with a meal on New Year’s Eve, that pregnant lady looked especially displeased to see me.
-The iron brought to our room was scary and shocking!
-This isn’t 4 star!

Everything was exceptional,breakfast was delicious,clean room,facilities always provided.
