Pancake machine didn’t work well
My son is wheelchair bound. It is very frustrating to have a room with two beds, when we need a lot of space to maneuver the wheelchair. Praise God that this hotel had a huge room with only one bed AND A ROLL IN SHOWER. A disabled
person cannot be lifted over a bathtub safely. It just can''t be done. The care person is likely to trip their feet over the side of the tub. Hotels do NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT CATER TO DISABLE D PEOPLE. And I'm pretty sure that wheelchair bound people do still travel and do still want to bathe. THIS HOTEL DID GREAT PERTAINING TO THE DISABLED POPULATION.
I didn't like the shades. I was not instructed how to use the remote. When they didn't work, I was told to just pull them
down. That did not work. Finally, a maintenance person came and got them to work. Remotes are fancy, but sometimes its is just better to get something ordinary that works easily and skip the sleek design part. Get with it designers.
“Holiday Inn Express in Georgetown, Kentucky is in a great location and looks fantastic from the outside—honestly, it gives off that ‘new build or freshly renovated’ vibe at first glance.
But once you step inside, it doesn’t quite match that first impression.
The lobby area was partially blocked off, possibly due to a leak since there were ceiling tiles missing. Some furniture was taped off, and there was a strong smell—whether it was heavy fragrance or disinfectant, I’m not sure—but it was enough to give me an immediate headache.
That said, the hotel was very clean. And for me, that’s number one. I didn’t see any dirt, stray hairs, or bugs anywhere, and that goes a long way.
We stayed in a king room, and I’ll give credit where it’s due—it was spacious, modern, and very thoughtfully laid out. There were plenty of places to put your things, including a built-in bench and desk setup so you didn’t have to throw your bags on the floor (which I always appreciate). There were lots of outlets by the bed, a nice reading lamp, and everything felt functional and intentional.
One of my favorite features was the window setup. Instead of those useless curtains that never fully close, they had two pull-down shades—a light-filtering one for privacy and a blackout shade that actually blocks the light. I wish every hotel would switch to that.
The room had a clean, modern, minimalist feel. Nothing over the top, just simple and well done.
Now—the bathroom.
It had its pros and cons. The shower itself was fantastic. Walk-in, great water pressure, and hot water that actually stayed hot. You could take a long, steamy shower and feel like you washed the day—and your bad mood—right off of you. I’m big on that, and this place nailed it.
But the rest of the bathroom? Not so much.
The door didn’t latch properly and didn’t fit the frame, so it wouldn’t fully shut. It had clearly been painted over and patched in spots, and the hardware looked mismatched—like a quick fix instead of a finished...

Nasty
My kids wasn't being that loud and was in trouble for them talking
The room was spacious and comfortable.
Breakfast was lacking.
Location and that’s about it
The foot had fallen in the main lobby. Everyone had to be redirected thru the staffing corridors to get to the elevators
My family came into town to help with our new home and they stayed here and loved it no complaints
The food was good and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly. The parking lot was well lit.
The room had an allergen in there that caused my asthma to flare up; either mold, dust, or mildew. The room did not appear to be clean. The pool was out of order. The shower water pressure was not good. The vent in the bathroom did not work properly so after a shower it was hot an muggy in the bathroom.
