Plus: Large clean room with safe and refrigerator. Good-sized bathroom. Good view of Ushuaia harbor.
Minus: Too far from the center of town (5 km) for food, money exchange, shopping and other conveniences. Unpaved, pot-holed and muddy (when raining) street in front of hotel. Poorly constructed building and poorly decorated.
Como Hosteria atendeu as expectativas. Simples, mas limpo. Distante do centro, é necessário transporte (ônibus ou táxi). Mas compensa pela vista.
My stay at Hosteria Bella Vista was excellent in every respect except for the location, which entailed either a taxi ride or a 2 mile hike to the center of Ushuaia for restaurants, attractions, etc. The hotel is in a residential area well away from the city centre, and I didn't find amenities (food, transportation) conveniently available. Hence my overall rating at 4/5. But those things aside, I found the hotel to be an EXCELLENT value. Breakfast was very good, with reasonably ample choices. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would gladly stay there again.
Hotel was clean comfortable and quiet but phone service was difficult
My wife's call from us could not go through.
It was off the beaten path and still a bit pricey.
Though I liked the hotel I couldn't recommend because it was too far of a walk
To main street and you needed to walk/taxi to the town center.
Someone who wanted more of a country inn experience over a busy city
Hotel might like it better.
Still the experience was pleasant
The hotel is far from the center of town and is located in an area that doesn't feel very safe or pleasant to walk in. The bed was a twin size VERY uncomfortable, and the room too hot. The staff doesn't speak any English which made communication difficult.
The only plus was a nice breakfast and view.
Good free wifi, no restaurant. Once breakfast ends at 10 there is no food anywhere near the hotel. $7-10 USD taxi ride to the downtown area. Proprietors don't speak English if that matters to you. No dresser in the room. A bar to hang clothes on and a shelf. Pillows were exceedingly flat - I had to use my airplane pillow. Very loud - both neighborhood noise and exceptionally thin walls.
I wanted to give this "hotel" a good review, because I found the owner friendly and pleasant, but the reviews I read and the rating of 5 out of 5 that was posted when I booked the hotel was a gross inflation. This place is way removed from the center of town and on a dirt road, not within walking distance of anything. It was cold at night ( I wore a hat to bed) and the windows and doors gave me no sense of security as they had flimsy and ineffective locks (a paper clip and a tug could get you in) and as I was traveling with a small laptop and camera equipment - AND the in room safe was the size of a tissue box - I was forced to carry everything of value in a backpack every day. The rate was way too high. This "hotel" is worth 50 to $70 a night at best. It is in a residential area and there was a house party going on under my window one night till about midnight until I was able to locate someone from the hotel, who did her best to quell the neighbors. Room is sparsely appointed. I was disappointed and more than anything felt I payed way too much. Not a good value.
good breakfast and great view but it is a bit out of the way and because of this i believe it is a bit overpriced. also the walls are pretty thin. other than that the staff is very nice, breakfast is very good and there is the sweetest miniature dog called bongo running around. would certainly recommend staying here at least one night if you visit ushuaia, car necessary.
The neighborhood looks like a rundown residential area. The inside looks cute and well maintained. The hotel manager is very nice. You'll have to take a taxi or a bus into town. We transferred to the Hotel Monaco since Hotel Monaco is conveniently located on San Martin. After one night at Hotel Monaco, we wanted to come back to Hotel Bella Vista. The only major thing I didn't like about this hotel was the location.
I've chosen carefully a place where I could enjoy a bit of silence after long days of excursions.
