New management is messy
Pros:

I stayed at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Albany on Aug 31-September 1st. When I get there the costumer service was under new management. I would think I would have the best stay there since the new management took over, but it was the worst stay in any hotel from the Marriott. The breakfast was terrible, the room I was giving had marijuana smell all through the room. The sofa still had on sheets from the last person who stayed in the room. The worst was that 2 men tried to enter the room with an active key. I had the indoor look on. When I got to the door, there were 2 black men heading to the stairs. 1 of the men apologize and said he didn’t know the room was being occupied. I would like to know how he got the key in the first place. I always got complementary water in all the Marriotts especially this one. They were no water at all, even to purchase. Lastly, I always utilize the heated pool and jacuzzi. The heat was not working and the new management told me that it wouldn’t be fixed and the jacuzzi was being taken out. I was very disappointed in my stay and I cut my stay for the remainder of the time. I’ve always had the best stay there out of the other hotels I stay at when I’m in Albany. The old management was outstanding so I don’t understand the change.

Why I will never go to this chain again
Pros:

I was booked at the hotel for 2 nights. The morning after my first night I was hit by a car and was in the hospital till 5 in the afternoon with a broken leg. I thought it best to go home rather than stay the night at the hotel. I explained the situation to the manager but they still charged me for the second night.
Their lack of empathy for the situation was astounding to me. I will never stay at any of their hotels again.

Staff is good , if you want to just stay for a night ok. Not Marriott standard

The area and spacious suite.

Cons:

That there was no pool as advertised and mentioned in all booking sites and their website. Also, the elevator was out of service and we were on the 7th floor during our stay with small children.

Won’t be coming here again unfortunately

The closeness to where we were going for the event was nice

Cons:

Their complimentary breakfast was nasty. I think the waffle mix was expired because it was so sour. The bathroom was also falling apart a bit. The bath curtain was torn
