Great staff. Great amenities. Good view. Clean rooms.
Not haunted enough. Scary toilets. Scary HVAC system.
The location. It was very clean. Bed was comfortable.
Nothing.
The front desk attendants were very friendly.
We stayed for three nights and asked for housekeeping on our second night. The receptionist noted our request but the next day, after being out all day, we came back to a messy room. We just asked to get our trash emptied and fresh towels. Also, the fan in our bathroom did not work so the bathroom got all steamy.
We enjoyed everything it was very nice the staff was excellent such a sweet girl at the front desk the pool area was very clean and not over populated 10 10 would stay again
Nothing
I returned to my hometown for a family visit and decided to stay at this iconic property. I had high hopes for a great experience. Unfortunately, my stay ism not living up to my expectations. The location is good, with lots to do nearby. my first impressions were that the lighting was dim and the elevators had plenty of scuffs in the paint. My room on the 7th floor was adequate, but again, the lighting was dim and the bedside lamp didn't work. The chair/ottoman was not comfortable to sit in for any length of time. The river view was pleasant.
On my second day, the in-room coffee brewer made a horrendous cup of coffee. The K-cup was of a brand that I frequently drink at home, so I was disappointed. After several hours out with family, I returned to the room as I didn't feel very well. My plan was to order room service and call it a night.
After looking at the menu for Caroline's online, I called to order. I was told that the item I was interested in was no longer on the menu. So I ordered something different. Several minutes later, the room phone rang and it was the restaurant telling me that my second choice was no longer on the menu. There were no menus in the room. No apologies for my inconvenience. No offer to provide an accurate menu. Eventually I decided I felt well enough to venture to the restaurant to order. Arrived at the entrance and waited. Waitstaff did not acknowledge my presence and walked by me. I stuck it out, not wanting to go anywhere else due to feeling poorly.
I was eventually seated and my order was taken. The food arrived quickly and the waitress checked on me within 2 minutes. She never returned to refill my water glass. She finally returned with the bill and I paid quickly so I could return to my room. The value for the Julian Burger was about average, and the quality was ok. Definitely not outstanding as I would have expected from all of the high ratings I found on TripAdvisor for the restaurant itself.
I will be alerting the hotel staff about my lamp. Honestly, I would not stay here again. The value was not worth what I paid.
It was peaceful, quiet, and clean. Very friendly staff.
The thermostat was broke so heat was controlled by the feont desk. And there wasnt anywhere to warm up our food.
Everything
Nothing
Beautiful historic hotel that has kept its historic decor. Unique old world rooms, excellent service in a warm cozy atmosphere. We will absolutely stay here again.
HOWEVER, two points to note: We could hear EVERYTHING from the adjoining room through a locked adjoining door. We will demand a room without adjoining doors next time.
And the pool looked really grimey. They really need to refurbish that soon.
Great!
Hotel desk clerks socialized with other employees and were a bit loud. This distracted us from the otherwise beautiful hotel lobby and sitting area.
Beautiful, classy and clean!! We loved the Christmas tree in the Lobby and enjoyed the live entertainment in the Riverboat Lounge!
Nothing:)
Historic, well kept up, just beautiful
Nothing comes to mind.
Bathroom situated well in room for space. View from room. Good restaurant, bar, pool area, Spa on premises. Plus all staff went above to accommodate. Really enjoyed our Anniversary get away.
