Pros:

Right on the seafront, Nice sea view. Short walk to all points of interest. Room and bathroom large by modern standards. Free duck.

Cons:

Simple things missing - no shelf of any sort in the bathroom. Matress worn out and way too soft meaning you will spend the night stuck in a pit with your partner..Lighting very poor and no usable reading lights. Curtains not up to the task. Breakfast very limited, and wildly expensive for what you get -;a la carte only - no juices or cereals or fruits. Vegetarian choice has no seasoning or imagination. Staff made little effort to be pleasant. If you're desperate for somewhere to sleep it'll do but for the price I'd expect better.

Iconic building in great location, meals expensive
Pros:

Great location. Stunning views from my room on third floor, overlooking the harbour.

Short walk to shops, restaurants, pubs

Cons:

Breakfast and dinner were rather expensive. I also did not the hassle of having to book.a table for brekfast.
One member of staff at checkin seemed surprised that I did not want to eat at the hotel.
A certain amount of noise from other guests in the corridor and the room above.

It is perfect for anyone who needs 'central'. On this visit, my room was sea-facing. Much better than the last visit.

Cons:

Breakfast does not start until 8am. No use to me when I need to leave the hotel at 8am to start my day!
