Wonderfuly attentive staff in a luxurosious suite and a comfortable nights sleep
Pros:

The property was within easy walking distance of the city walls with on-site parking available. After a small issue with our room we were upgraded to a Suite. The staff were amazing and attentive and the suite was gorgeous. Had a wonderful stay and a comfortable nights sleep

Pros:

The lady on Reception was very friendly and informative.
The restaurant staff were friendly, polite and engaging.
The look of the building and room was lovely.

Cons:

On closer inspection for the price we paid the carpet was stained and some parts of the walls were marked. Shockingly for a 2 night stay you have to choose between your room being cleaned or use the equivalent as a voucher towards a drink in the bar? This should be a non negotiable and a complimentary drink would have been more welcoming. I purposely booked a room with a bath, after nearly 6hrs of walking around the sites of York and looking forward to this, I ran the bath only to share it with clumps of rust from the tap. This was reported along with photos. Reception forwarded this to maintenance who said to run the tap, its due to works in the area; offered for the bath to be cleaned. Fair enough. However, 2nd day this happened again, most disappointing as this was a treat for our wedding anniversary. I couldn't fault the Receptionist she tried, but this is not what you expect in such a price bracket of hotel. No recompense...

Pros:

The hotel, bistro and room decor is fab! Staff were also excellent and dealt with an issue with our room professionally and quickly. Food in the bistro was also excellent - we had breakfast and lunch.

Cons:

Being very picky, but inside the cupboard holding the TV was a bit dusty and the carpets stained - could do with a thorough deep clean.

Exceptional stay
Pros:

We really loved our stay at Hotel Du Vin York. The location is great, with easy access to the town centre—about a 20‑minute walk. The room was very clean and comfortable, and it was convenient to have on‑site parking available for £15 per night.
I’d especially like to thank Faye at reception, who was absolutely lovely and very helpful. Her warm and friendly service made our stay even more enjoyable.

Cons:

If I had to mention one small negative, it would be that the toilets could have been cleaned a bit better. This might just be me being picky, but it’s something that could be improved.
