Beautiful dog friendly hotel in central location!
Pros:

Beautiful room with lovely decor!
Some of the staff were so lovely, warm and welcoming.
Central location just a short walk away from most things.
Super dog friendly!
Lovely food. Parking on site was also handy.

Cons:

The only thing i would mention was just general housekeeping issues but nothing big. Ensuring the coffee / tea facilities is fully topped up on arrival etc.

Perhaps parking for hotel guests should be reduced / free.

Compared to previous stays this hotel has not kept up its standards
Pros:

Location, layout, facilities

Cons:

Room was humid and stuffy, carpet by mirror had yellow stain, lights flickered in bathroom, first breakfast was slow and lacked choice compared to menu and food cooking poor (second breakfast much better), leather seats in bar ripped open.

Fabulous hotel!!!
Pros:

Perfect place to stay.
Stunning top floor suite which was HUGE!!! Definitely worth the extra paid.
The decor in the hotel was amazing.
All the staff were lovely especially the ladies at breakfast. Great choice of food.
The walk in to York centre was about 15 to 20 minutes.
There are a few restaurants nearer to the restaurant.
We loved our 2 night stay and would return again.

Cons:

Nothing …. It was perfect!

Noisy unpleasant stay
Pros:

Good location, with parking

Cons:

The hotel is nice but my room had 6 air con units outside the bedroom window, which were constantly running all night, very small room considering room rate was £170 per night

Pros:

We’ve stayed lots of times but never in a suite, the staff and hotel itself is beautiful.

Cons:

In the suite it obviously was a dog friendly room and we found some dog toys under the couch in the living area and it smelt of dogs, I think that when you’re travelling without a dog you should be put in a room that’s not dog friendly.

Lovely hotel in excellent location.
Pros:

We had a three night stay. Our room was in the annex but good size, comfortable, tastefully furnished and decorated. Air-conditioning was efficient, easy to adjust, and kept temperature just right. Bathroom had bath, a shower with excellent flow, a heated towel rail keeping towels dry and warm and shelves in sensible places.
Although we didn't book breakfast in advance we liked it so much on our first morning that we had Hotel du Vin breakfast every day. Bistro du Vin was also excellent for dinner.
All staff were invariably friendly and helpful.
Will definitely return!

Cons:

Nothing not to like
