The property was so clean and nice. The decor and vibe was exceptional! Loved everything about it!
This is a gorgeous spacious boutique hotel, pet friendly with a kind and helpful staff, gorgeous grounds and plenty of communal space to hang out or walk your dog. It was super convenient to many local attractions although far enough away from downtown you will need a car to get around. The rooms are really large and the bed was comfortable. The art on the building and the landscaping is breath taking. It's done with such care it really shows.
Breakfast is not included. I should have read a little more closely I saw "breakfast" in the booking.com listing and assumed complimentary. It is not. There is complimentary coffee in the bar but you will need to purchase breakfast in the restaurant.
There was no microwave in the room. Water and ice are only available on the 2nd floor. Three pillows is not enough for two middle aged adults. Nor is only two bath towels enough for two adults staying the the weekend. Those are all minor issues and did not impact the enjoyment of our stay. Staff was quick to provide extra towels and complimentary bottled water but we didn't think to ask for an extra pillow until we were already in bed. Overall it is really a lovely place and we would stay there again.

Peaceful, the interiors are great. Feels at home
Food good. Room terrible. Terrible lighting in the room. The wardrobes they provide are even darker so instead of putting clothes away, it all stayed in the suitcase because I cant see what im doing. No soap or body wash for shower. And the shower is a death trap. I feel lucky to be alive after my shower as opposed to getting killed in the shower.

I stay at the Elwood almost every time I visit Kentucky which is at least 3/4 times a year. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I love the king suite it's so nice. The gym is always clean. I love that there's a rowing machine. The bar serves up excellent cocktails and all the food I've eaten there is tasty. Breakfast in the summer with the white curtains billowing is so nice. Even though it's on a busy road the atmosphere whisks you away. The personnel there is always friendly and helpful. I've never had a bad experience.

The location had some of the same limitations of most chain hotels; not in a walkable neighborhood, despite < 2mi from downtown.
