Period hotel in a great location
Pros:

The hotel is superbly situated for Devonshire Park, the sea front and a short walk into town.
The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
The bathroom was clean with a good shower.

Cons:

The suite was on the top floor only accessible by a combination of lift and 2 flights of stairs (or 6 flights from the lobby).
It was very hot indeed. A fan was supplied but it was a bit broken and needed propping up.
The bar area was not staffed when we popped in for a coffee in the evening.
The coffee and tea in the room wasn't great.
The room was tired.

We enjoyed it and will definitely return again, although hopefully with quieter neighbours!
Pros:

The hotel was excellent and in a perfect location for us. The staff were very friendly and our room was lovely and well appointed.

Cons:

Very noisy people staying in the room next to ours, who came back at 12.30am and woke us up. Also a slight smell from the Indian restaurant when our window was open.

Great location and nice staff but the hotel needs some investment.
Pros:

Great location near the tennis, beach and shops. Staff very pleasant. Parking on site.

Cons:

Things that have been raised before that management said they would fix:
Patchy WiFi, not enough fans for each room, not SMART TVs, double hangers, tired fittings and fixtures.

Great stay. Great location especially for the tennis.
Pros:

Great owner/ manager so helpful and very obliging.
Even parked my car for me when a space in the road became available so we could leave it there for the following day, while at tennis. He gave us an upgrade too as there were 3 of us sharing a room.
Lovely breakfast.

Good choice. Close to theatres and seafront.
Pros:

Pleased to discover there was a lift to get us to our second floor room.
Having windows on two sides was a bonus for ventilation.
Extra large bed was welcome.
Breakfast was exceptional, with a wide choice (including fish if you wanted) and the service was prompt.
There was a restaurant, but we chose to eat in some of the many other restaurants close by. Bistro Pierre has wonderful views over the sea and is a good choice - if you are prepared to wait.
