Location is brilliant, staff are friendly and efficient. The room was clean fairly roomy and a good helping of tea snd coffee, only downside was no milk offered.the breakfast was lovely and icluded in the price which is already reasonable.i will definitely be returning to the white horse and griffin.
Room being 3 floors up ,not a problem to me but some one with poor mobility may struggle.
Staff were great friendly and very helpfull also very welcoming
Room was very poor could not see in bathroom lighting was very poor decor was old and tired and carpets were filthy we had same room ten years ago and it hadn't changed looks like it had never been decorated since curtains hung on floor and were all grubby
the breakfast was adequate with a small selection on the menu the room was adequate with basic essentials the location of the property was excellent for all ammeanties
nothing
Great location, fantastic food, wonderful, friendly, helpful staff.
The hotel was very tired & in need of redecoration. Water pressure was not constant and caused problems when showering. Furniture in the room was shabby & torn/worn.
Great location
Very dated, no view, and no heating in bathroom
Friendly staff and comfortable bed
Noise of other residents going to bed, slightly cramped room.
Great location and unique and quirky feel from the traditional property
Nothing really, it’s a very old building so expect a few access issues for those with limited mobility that is all
The location of the property is ideal for getting in around Whitby and it’s maintained its traditional quirky style.
The staff were all very welcoming and friendly.
Just felt that it needed a bit more attention to detail around cleaning and one or two bits of maintenance.
Great Breakfast
Location
Room was very noisy from the room above
Good location, staff were friendly
The room we were in (Discovery) had no wifi, sloping roofs which made it difficult to stand up straight including in the shower
Location
Cleanliness
Very cute and quirky
Bathroom could use a good scrub tbh
Exactly what you would expect from a 300 year old coaching inn. Real character.
Superb food
Ageing gracefully
We both enjoyed our stay, wish we could have stayed longer. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
Nothing we didn't like
Breakfast great
Decent bath.
Light and roomy.
Whilst it is an old property, this does not excuse grubbiness.
We loved that a building 100’s of years old is still being used 💓 Great location, bed was spotlessly clean, room was warm. I liked the idea of the dog friendly room.
So difficult because we loved the age of the building but it needs a really good clean and a sympathetic make-over. The restaurant has very, very good reviews, personally I couldn’t have eaten there because the area always smelt of bleach. Which some would see as a good thing but I found overpowering. We went for breakfast on our second day but settled for toast because we just couldn’t find a full breakfast appetising given the smell of bleach.
