Excellent
Pros:

Nice rooms and the restaurant food was
Really impressive. Would definitely recommend staying there

Cons:

There was a weird smell in the rooms like smoke but obviously not. It was very noticeable as if it could do with fresh air and air fresheners. Hopefully they can sort this out as the rooms are still lovely and very modern

Not At All What I Expected
Pros:

So what did I expect? Typically, a slightly above average corporate hotel. It is absolutely not that at all. It is way, way more. Somebody, somewhere in the management of this hotel has a passion & very high attention to detail. This includes the quality of staff they have employed. The reception staff (day, evening & night porter) go above & beyond reception duties, providing more of a concierge service personalised for your individual needs. Nothing was too much trouble & staff were attentive. We stayed in one of the newly refurbished double superior rooms. The room was very well laid out, plenty of storage with a very large comfortable bed. Plus the addition of a higher quality Nespresso machine & fully stocked mini bar. Hairdryer, iron & ironing board also in the room. There was an excellent shower with high quality toiletries provided. The quality of food is very high and it surprised me that it is clearly made in house, not one of these corporate delivery meals, which all tastes the same. Just an example, the venison pie was outstanding & I asked the staff to surprise me with the cheesecake of the day, which did - a tiramisu cheesecake that was a perfect balance of flavour. Breakfast was cooked fresh, was also high quality & apparently locally sourced. Restaurant staff were attentive, friendly & welcoming. The staff are a major asset to this hotel - they genuinely want to help their guests enjoy their stay and that has been obvious throughout our stay.

Lovely Hotel
Pros:

A clean hotel with friendly staff.
Comfortable room and very comfortable bed and pillows. I loved the toiletries. One of my favourite brands.
The food was fresh and well cooked and the dining area was clean and inviting.
The only criticism was the creaking in the room during windy conditions. .However this did not affect our positive experience, and thank you to the friendly and accommodating staff.

Lovely hotel with great staff, but pricey when extras are involved.
Pros:

The full Scottish breakfast was superb along with tea OJ & toast, could not fault anything that I was given. The staff were very friendly and a pleasure to be with.

Cons:

Considering the large price I paid for the stay, i was disappointed to be charged for both an early check in and a late checkout especially when the hotel was obviously not full.

A five star experience
Pros:

I contacted Alana the events manager to organise an afternoon tea (sweet and savoury) for a gathering after my father’s funeral. It was difficult to be sure of numbers and what to order and I wanted to make sure that the room was suitable for the event. Alana guided me through options and helped me with the selections. Everything exceeded my expectations and we were made to feel very welcome and provided with excellent service and food. Their pork and onions sausage rolls were the best I’ve ever tasted, as were the scones and carrot cake - all freshly prepared in-house. A huge thanks to Alana and her team. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue for quality, value, service and professionalism. She took the stress out of the organisation and made it easy for me.
