Excellent hotel, good facilities, and excellent restaurants. Staff were very helpful
The view, the restaurant and the size of the bed
The en suite facility was very dated and in poor condition. The carpet was covered in crumbs when we arrived .
The staff at the front desk was kind and helpful. (Bar staff was not as motivated and we waited a long time to place a drink order on the night we arrived).
The bathrooms in both of our rooms were comfortable. It was nice to have access to bath tubs.
Room 8 was too close to the air exchange units. We wanted fresh air in our room overnight as it was hot that day but the noise was unpleasant. That room was a real disappointment and we would not have returned the following weekend except that we'd already booked and paid for another room (17), which was better, but still a let down given the cost.
The plastic flowers in the entry area are dusty and tacky. They seem off-brand for a place with what we've heard is the best restaurant in town. We enjoyed our meal at The Boatshed (especially the mussels).
Friendly welcome as always. We've eaten here even when we haven't stayed here; the restaurant is excellent. I am coeliac, and I am always well looked after.
Lovely hotel, very traditional. Great restaurants
Bathrooms need updating
Perfectly located, spacious room, lovely view
Small parking area can become challenging during busy times.
De kamer met de erker was fantastisch.
Het bijbehorende restaurant is ook prima.
Location
Nothing
Perfectly located in the centre of Stornoway. Option of a cafe or restaurant dining. The staff were friendly and kind. The food was good. Beautiful views across the harbour to the castle.
The staff were incredible
Quaint older establishment without a lift to the second floor.
Good meals in the restaurant and bistro for dinner and breakfast.
Nothing in “the old girl” as staff described it.
Tried the restaurant again. The food is out of this world
Nothing i can think of
The management looked after my every need
