An Honest review.
Set in the loverly village of Findon this is a medium sized hotel, set on a large plot of land.
Our room was spacious but at a cost of £170 a night it should be. The large bed was comfortable and the room was spotless. The negatives? Well, and I know it’s only a small issue, but the shower gel comes in a tiny tiny bottle, enough for one shower. I think most travellers would have a shower before the evening meal at the end of the day.. we asked for more and it was supplied so not really a problem, a larger dispenser would be a much better idea.
We had an evening meal which was very nice, however staying midweek at one point we were the only people in the restaurant.
Breakfast….wow!! One of the best best I have had for a long time, locally sourced produce well cooked to perfection.
As a Gardener I was disappointed that the large and in their words well tended garden was a bit of a letdown. A sad reflection on would it could be. I feel sorry for those that use this hotel for weddings as it could be so much better. At the time of our stay the lawns were being used as a car park.
These are just my observations, would I stay again? Yes. The hotel staff were all very friendly and attentive. The place was spotless and the food very nice that along with a comfortable bed more than made up for the very few negatives
Breakfast very nice
I felt that dinner was tuff and not really worth the price
The breakfast was beautiful
The staff couldn't have done more
The room was a little small
Very friendly staff, nice room
The accomodation and chamber staff
The quality of the evening meal was at best acceptable, and over priced for what it was.
The breakfast, I'd strongly advise the guest stays wuth traditional full English breakfast
The chap serving the breakfast wore a grubby tree shirt and jeans. He'd have better placed doing the garden.
Nice towels
Nice breakfast
Bed didn't meet my expectations for a superior room.
Shower was weak.
Base of bath is broken
Loved the breakfast. It was very very good
The olde world feel of the hotel was gorgeous, the staff from reception to breakfast waiting staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was varied and tasty. The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable ( we had a superior double)
The hotel is a little bit out of the way, BUT, it is beautiful and the village is very pretty.
All very nice
No complaints
Hotel was clean and comfortable.
Staff were lovely.
Breakfast was great.
Nothing
Rooms were great, lovely period property
Not necessarily “didn’t like” but there’s nowhere else to make the feedback- just some notes for review:
- the menu on the website is out of date
- there are two post codes for the property on line which confuses the satnav.
Characterful, open, relaxed, garden, terrace
