Location, cleanliness and staff

I stayed here a couple of years ago and couldn't wait to come as we had such a lovely time. Sadly I wish I hadn't bothered. Our room was on the 2nd floor above the service area at the side of the hotel which was so noisy, bins being emptied and lorries arriving 1st thing in the morning with deliveries. The rooms themselves really need a makeover. If you are thinking why did I not book a pool room where it is quieter we had already spent a considerable amount of money staying here and did not want to spend even more.
The breakfast and the lunch in the hotel is good but the evening food really is unacceptable. I also think that the food needs better labelled. I cant eat fish and found that even though some of the stuff has a label it doesn't mention what the main ingredients are. We ended up going out most evenings as the food is terrible.
The rooms were clean and kept tidy and the pool area, bar, reception and corridors are all really clean also.
My main gripe with the hotel (and Jet2) was that we had booked all inclusive plus. Unfortunately this only includes basic brands. Anyone who thinks that they are going to go to the hotel and have access to certain brands will be very disappointed. Even if there was a supplement to pay but if you want something they don't class in the AI package you have to pay full price. I had a bill of 19.50 on check out as I had Bombay Sapphire instead of Gordons. I don't understand why AI+ is being offered. When I asked at the reception I was told that as far as the hotel was concerned that all-inclusive plus does not exist in the hotel and they don't understand why Jet2 is offering it. I contacted Jet2 and a resort Rep called Janos came to see me at the hotel. He did admit that they were having complaints about the AI+ but his remedy for my problem was to down-grade me to half board if I didn't like what they were offering me. This is completely unacceptable. I noticed a big difference in the hotel from 2 years ago and I definitely would not class it a 4 stars.
The only thing about the hotel is the staff. They do make the holiday but a few of the barmen when you are there a day or 2 can be a little too cheeky.
The price for this hotel is not worth it and instead of putting a load of tat in your room like shopping bags and hats with the hotel logo on them maybe shave a few pounds off the bill.

Great hotel close to all the shops and nightlife in the Yumbo and within walking distance of the beach at Maspalomas, and the dunes.
Nice adults only hotel with a nice pool area with outside restaurant.
Comfortable rooms with good amenities, nice breakfast served until 11a.m. and very helpful staff.
Have stayed here twice before and have just rebooked for this coming April.

Location.

Our second stay at the Neptuno, and it didn't disappoint.

Check in was easy, room was clean and had everything we needed. Serviced every day to a high standard.

Buffet restaurant for breakfast and evening meal. Plenty of choice for breakfast with an egg station where you could get freshly cooked bacon and eggs of your choice. Omelettes were delicious. Evening meal was generally to a high standard, and relatively hot.

Lunch is served by the pool, waiter service and a menu to choose from (my favourite meal of the day).

The inside bar at night time serves top quality drinks and service by Ishmael and his colleagues is fantastic. You never have to wait and they top your glass up without having to ask. The banter, laughs and service makes it a great place to spend the evening. There is entertainment on most nights as well.

Hotel location is good, across the road from the Yumbo centre and a 15 minute walk downhill to Maspalomas.

Will we visit again?.…...….. yes of course we will 100%.

I had very disappointing experience at this hotel. I was initially given a unsuitable room that was cold and dark, after repeatedly asking a room change over several days, the room was finally changed, but i was charged extra for it which I found unacceptable.
Unfortunately the reception staff were unhelpful so as the manager showed little interest to resolving the issue.
This was especially disappointing as I am a regular guest at this hotel.
Because of this experience I will not be staying again.
The island is not short of hotels that offer better customer service and value.

Beautiful pool area, pool bar restaurant bar, location close to bars, restaurants, shops, everything to hand

First of all whatever you read about this being a ★ ★ ★ ★ hotel for us personally it’s more akin to decent ★ ★ ★ .

Stairs - Even though we were allocated to a ground floor room there still lots of stairs from the entrance

Our room was located by the snack bar , handy for a short cut during the opening hours but not great as we could hear the staff in the mornings and our balcony view overlooking the back of the kitchen , delivery and cigarette break area for the staff wasn’t pleasant.

What was good about the room is the wardrobe had mirrored doors so a lot better when getting ready and it is located further inside the room rather than as you enter which is better when needing to access your clothes and the safe which is free and very easy to use .

Bathroom - Water pressure on the shoes and toilet was very powerful but we had odd instances of it running from cold to scalding !

We could have done with more sockets as we had to boil our kettle on the bedside cabinet using one of their extension cubes .

We borrowed their iron and ironing board , the latter was falling apart and needs replacing.

The food was adequate for the most part but glad we only went half board as it was nice to eat out when we felt like it . The best things were the omelettes , the bacon was decent as was the bread . The dinners were rather hit and miss with mainly pork and chicken along with some other concoctions . The desserts and fresh fruit were again decent and there’s a machine that squeezes fresh oranges so none of that faux juice that other hotels tend to serve up .

The Snack Bar - Some of the food was better than the main restaurant but on some days it wasn’t as fresh as it could be so be warned.

The staff were all very warm and friendly but felt when we arrived the receptionist on duty should have given us more details such as the WiFi code etc as after unpacking we had to go back and ask her for further information.

The location is more than likely one of the main factors here’ as they have a doorway leading out of the rear by the pool so accessing the Yumbo Centre is extremely convenient.

It has rather a lot of shops with some selling pretty much the same items so they tended to blend into one after a walk round .

Some of the restaurants were ok and there are a number of bars which due to their nature and target audience are not suitable for children. The bars we felt were the most relaxing are Cocpacabana and Bar Meiker , great service , their drinks are well priced , genuine not watered down like some of the others we tried .

We met quite few people who were returning guests , the majority of these mentioned the location being the primary reason more than anything else and while being very complimentary about the Neptuno none of them stated they felt it was a ★ ★ ★ ★ .

Location

Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and far below the standard expected of a 4-star property. While there are a few positive aspects, such as the friendly and service-oriented staff and the good, varied breakfast, these do not come close to compensating for the many serious shortcomings.

To begin with, the situation at the swimming pool is unacceptable. Sunbeds are already being reserved from as early as 7:00 a.m., making it almost impossible to find an available bed even early in the morning. From around 10:30 a.m., the lifeguard walks around placing warning cards on the reserved beds, but this happens every single day without any follow-up or consequences. As a result, nothing ever changes and the same guests continue to reserve beds for hours without using them. Despite being advertised as heated, the pool water is ice cold and clearly not heated at all.

The room itself is in a shocking condition and absolutely not worthy of a 4-star hotel. The bathroom is covered in mold, the sink is damaged, and the water pressure is extremely low. On top of that, the water temperature constantly changes from freezing cold to scalding hot, making it very unpleasant and unsafe to shower. Towels are replaced daily but frequently arrive with visible stains, which is unacceptable from a hygiene standpoint.

The overall cleanliness and maintenance of the room are very poor. The room is outdated, worn down, and clearly neglected for years. The curtains are heavily stained, the beds are uncomfortable and of very poor quality, and the overall impression is one of neglect and lack of care. Guests are instructed to place a card on the bed to request fresh bed linen, but this request is repeatedly ignored. Even after several days, no clean sheets were provided.

We have stayed at Neptuno several times in previous years, but we have never experienced the hotel in such a bad state. The lack of maintenance in the rooms this year is by far the worst we have ever encountered. The same applies to the ongoing issue with sunbed reservations at the pool, which management appears unwilling or unable to address.

Another disappointing aspect is the lack of basic hospitality. During a stay of 12 days, we received only two small bottles of water once, with no refills or replacements provided at any point during the stay.

While the breakfast is good and offers plenty of choice, the lunch served at the pool bar is of very poor quality and not worth the price. Once again, the staff at the pool bar are friendly and do their best, but their kindness alone can no longer justify or make up for the many negative aspects of this hotel.

Overall, this hotel no longer deserves its 4-star rating. Poor maintenance, hygiene issues, misleading facilities, and a complete lack of enforcement of hotel rules have resulted in a very disappointing experience. We would not recommend this hotel and will seriously reconsider returning in the future unless major improvements are made.

Nu-i cunosc numele de familie doar că toată lumea o știe de Maria. ESTE o femeie energică cu părul alb grizonat și care are un zâmbet pentru fiecare om care într-un restaurant un salut frumos pentru fiecare om care intră restaurant și o vorbă bună de mângâiere. De multă vreme am vrut să scriu asta ! Felicitări Maria ! Să trăiești mulți ani și să ai oameni buni și valoroși lângă tine , așa cum ești tu !
