If you get the right room it is great, get the wrong room and it isn't built for big lads!
Pros:

I stayed twice in a week - the staff were really helpful after I mentions issues on my first stay and the room the second time was really nice! Perfect location for me, nice clean and tidy room.

Cons:

The room I stayed in first time had a shower which only reached up to my shoulders... the heating was on full blast all the time so the room was really hot too!

It was fine, food was fine, service was good, noisy floorboards everywhere not so great.
Pros:

Had to wait for someone to respond to the bell but once someone came, service was positive, helpful guy!
Waiters were really friendly and helpful.
When I had a problem they resolved with no issues

Cons:

Should have someone there to greet guests, not have to ring a bell and wait.
Ran out of Salmon and Bacon at breakfast and it was only 8am
First night slept awful, as person above didn't keep still except for 2am - 4.30am - walking made the noisy floorboards come to life - I was moved for my second night which was great but as I was up at 6.30am I could hear floor boards creaking as I moved around, so was worried about the person below me! I wouldn't stay again based on the noise elements, it was a real put off.

Pretty, traditional hotel, my new favourite in Gateshead.
Pros:

Very clean and comfortable bedroom with smart bathroom and lovely shower. The hotel restaurant and lounge space looks out into gorgeous landscaped gardens. Attention has been paid to hospitality details like crisp linen napkins. A little gem really, and I felt very good value for what I paid on the most simple room option.

Could have been better!
Pros:

We as a family chose to have the cooked breakfast and was disappointed when it turned up cold and when we was expecting a grilled tomato we had a raw tomato freshly sliced not to mention that the hash brown tasted off !!! So for a simple answer would be from us …. Just simply awful!!

Cons:

The room smelt of damp we had a dehumidifier running all day and night there were stains up the wall in the bathroom and the mattress on the bed was well past it needless to say we slept on top of the duvet for extra padding. I understand that it’s a hotel and many people stop there but come on you can do better than that it’s a utter shame really because it’s from the outside a stunning building. Parking was tight at the front of the building tho there was plenty of spaces around the back with signs saying park at your own risk tho we had no problems. We didn’t eat at the hotel we went to the gold medal just 5 mins down the road and found the food to be extremely tasty and better value from a family point.
