Lovely stay
Pros:

Family room was brilliant! Very big with a sofa bed and a cot already set up for the baby. Bar food and evening meal was lovely, breakfast is buffet style and a decent choice but wasn’t as high a standard as the rest. Pool was small but warm and quiet so we enjoyed a nice morning swim. All staff very helpful and attentive we would definitely recommend

Relaxing break in lovely refurbished Lakes hotel.
Pros:

Beautifully refurbished railway hotel. Staff lovely, food and drink perfect and location v picturesque. Dog friendly and rooms spacious.

Cons:

Functional spa rather than luxurious but treatments were spot on and well priced. Suspect spa next for refurbishment.

Beautiful room and excellent food.
Pros:

We booked an overnight stay with evening meal and breakfast. The spa was free to use during our stay. All the food was excellent with friendly polite staff. The spa is maybe ready for refurbishment but has all the facilities you would expect.

Once again, a lovely stay at the Grange
Pros:

The Grange Hotel is a lovely place; the food is excellent, the staff are lovely. Unlike many places these days, the background music fits in with the general ambience. At the (nearby) Netherwood Hotel, which we tried for a change recently, we were regaled with disco, trance, house music, you name it... and not in a 'background' way... up there where it could not be ignored. Enough to drive a person wishing to relax, or read a book, to go stark staring bonkers.

Cons:

Because we were there in February in cold, miserable weather, it was not overly busy, but this meant a little lack of atmosphere, especially in the bar area. The bar is in the main entrance area and there is a tendency for either the inner or outer doors to be left open sometimes, which can make it feel draughty. Also, during the refurbishment, we thought that some of the larger, more comfy chairs had disappeared, which seems a shame.

Dissapointing
Pros:

Been to the Grange hotel many years ago. Used to go to the Netherwood next door. Decided to try it again after the refurbishment. Good points, hotel is very nice and the rooms are fabulous and very clean. The evening meal was excellent. Bad points, the spa is terrible. Tiny locker room was unclean with towels dumped all over and not cleaned since the morning. Viruca waiting to happen. Breakfast is awful, buffet style with cheap sausages and bacon. Service non existent although there is a few options you can order extra but no signs of staff. Parking is shocking. Heating only comes on at 6pm so very poor as the room was cold on entering at 3.30pm I would not stay again as there are better places for the price and offerings. A real shame.

Lovely but won’t go again
Pros:

I have stayed at the grange twice now. Although the hotel is beautiful, the beds are uncomfortable. I was awoken all night the first night due to a dog in the next room continuously barking so I was given a complimentary stay, the second stay I was awoken all night due to load talking and doors slamming 3,4,5am.

What an amazing hotel experience. The hotel staff are fantastic. Extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel has been decorated to the highest standard and the facilities and dining are superb.
We're going to book our next weekend trip there as soon as we get home. Strongly recommended.

I think the reception staff could have done a better job. They told me I had to pre book to eat in the restaurant which
Pros:

Property itself is lovely and well looked after. Not worth £150 they charged for the night however.

Cons:

The sauna and steam room are very small and so is the lift. The steam room is the size of a toilet. The sauna is not a lot bigger.

Enjoyable winter break
Pros:

Just returned from a two night winter break, it was our first time visiting The Grange Hotel and had to write a big thank you to all the staff for making our stay so good! Wanted a special mention to Olga, she was so kind and friendly and made a great passion fruit martini too!
The interior of the hotel was beautiful, the bedroom and bathroom were immaculate, we ate in the lounge bar and the main restaurant both were very good, the 3 course dinner was excellent and so was the service.
We enjoyed the breakfasts lots of choices something for everyone.
The pool area was good as it was midweek we managed to get the whole area to ourselves which was a treat.
We definitely want to revisit!
