A lovely dog friendly stay with a beautiful hotel, fantastic staff and great food. We’ll definitely be back! 🐶❤️
Pros:

Lovely dog friendly stay

We’ve just come back from a lovely staycation in the Lake District, where we spent one night at The Grange Hotel, and we really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is beautiful and in such a lovely, picturesque location. Our room was huge, freshly renovated and really comfortable. As requested, we were given a room in a low traffic area, which was very important for us as we were travelling with our dog. It meant there weren’t people constantly walking past our door and disturbing him.

The staff were absolutely lovely and really went above and beyond. One of the guests had parked in a way that was blocking the EV charger, and the lady at reception very kindly called them and asked them to move their car so we could charge ours. We really appreciated her help.

Breakfast was delicious. There wasn’t a huge choice, but there was a full English and everything was fresh and good quality. They also kindly prepared a table for us in the lounge bar so we could have breakfast with our dog.

We also had dinner there and really enjoyed the fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding.

The best part for us was how genuinely dog friendly the hotel was. Our Buzz was treated like a VIP! 🐶 He got lots of attention, cuddles and even treats from the lovely staff. It was so nice to feel that he was really welcome.

We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend the hotel. We’ll certainly be coming back one day! ❤️

Good location, too many niggling issues to be great hotel
Pros:

Food was very good

Cons:

Hotel tired in places, parking very congested and despite having EV chargers they were always occupied by non-EV cars not charging (normally staff parking in them) that then had to be asked to move them

Location was lovely and our room was very spacious and front facing so we could see out to the bay. Many of the staff we met were lovely, hard working and very friendly.

Cons:

I was disappointed by the spa facilities which felt quite tired and in need of a revamp. I had a pedicure treatment in a room which looked like a storage room, no proper foot spa just an armchair and a plastic tub. There was no real ambience, room was silent and just overhead lighting which meant it didn't feel very special or relaxing and me and the technician had to exchange small talk the whole time.

Pros:

Good location for travelling around the Lake District

Cons:

I booked my room with a bathroom and paid extra for that , which was not accommodated on the first day , they offered us to move on the next day however but it was so much hassle then. Over all it was an okay stay I expected better for the price we paid.

Lovely stay.
Pros:

Great location in the town. Food from the bar and breakfast were both great. Staff really friendly and the room was very clean.

Cons:

Glad the spa wasn’t an additional cost as it was not relaxing when full of children, parents disregarding age rules for the hot tub and use of balls.

A Grand Hotel, in its day
Pros:

As the name suggests, this must have been a Grand Hotel back in the day.
A fabulous building with many original features being maintained.
Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
A superb buffet breakfast with all you can eat.

Cons:

We paid a premium for a front facing bedroom in anticipation of a view of Morecombe Bay, alas, trees have taken over and no view was visible.
Also, we found the bar/lounge area quite uncomfortable with Limited comfortable lounge seating.

A wonderful stay—comfortable, relaxing, and made even more enjoyable by the warm and attentive servi
Pros:

We had a lovely stay at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The room was comfortable and well presented, and the staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The overall atmosphere was relaxing, and the service was excellent.

Wonderful stay
Pros:

We went for an anniversary treat. The staff treated us incredibly well and looked after us, very friendly and courteous, especially the front staff, to make our stay top notch. There was a small issue but they resolved this quickly. The breakfast, dinner was all delightful and the hotel clean and very beautiful aesthetically inside and out. We would be happy to return again :)
